They try hard but they are no JK Rowling

So why did I buy it when it is the third in the series and why am I pissed off? because the first two were 290 and almost 300 pages - this is 240. Thin and disappointing. JK Rowling managed to produce a third book that was 3 inches thick and superb. Sequels should build, and be better, not disappoint. The end result is that the reader feels cheated and ripped off. Stop it. You will never be as good as Harry Potter despite the sycophantic reviews as you are too American and you are too lazy in your writing. EXAMPLE "the tires (sic) sqeaked and squealed on the gravel". They squeak on tarmac not gravel. Are you old enough to remember the James Bond that was the Big Fry guy George Lazenby, who skidded his wheels on sand and gravel and we heard screeching of rubber on tarmac? Poor sound effects. This is the same. Poor lazy writing. Final point - we are reading through the mind of 12 and 13 year olds. then in this one 14 years olds, going on 15. The attitudes need to change and adjust not stay exactly the same. The heroes have had the minds and attitudes of teenagers since day one. Lazy writing. How do these people make a success? They feed the lowly illiterate masses. I for one am opting out of the series now and trying to find someone who can write a good story without silly errors.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
