I like history and this taught me a lot about MacArthur that I did not know.

I grew up thinking that MacArthur was not a nice person. I found out that the things I had heard about him were only half truths. He was a military genius because he thought outside the box. He knew what it was going to take to beat the Japanese. People did not understand him because he knew the oriental mindset and they didn't. He loved the people in the Phillipeans and that is why he insisted on going back, not to show off like I had been told. He wanted to get them out of those terriable prision camps. He did not leave them there by his own choosing. He was ordered out of the Phillipeans by Franklin D. Roosevelt. It looked to me like some people have been doing him a big disservice. It looked like all those stories were started by Truman and his people out of jealously. This movie is historically correct and it changed my whole outlook on MacArthur. He was a showy person but he turned a loosing war around in a short time.Vollständige Rezension lesen
