It's a cliche to say, however; it really does exactly what it says on the tin.

A truly magnificent Danny Boyle opening ceremony that eclipses every other opening ceremony before it. Then the stars and newcomers to the challenge that awaits them is a fantastic coming together of the very best of humanity to stand up for the challenge , the excitement and the glory of releasing the training, the pain and the power of competing against each other for the glory of showing the world what awaits them. Great piece of historic value

Well worth the money.
I got mine so the younger grandchildren can look at this historic event.
Opening and closing ceremonies are outstanding.

A must for any sports person

If you are a competitor in any sport or just an armchair athlete then this DVD has something for you. From the fantastic opening ceremony with the drummers and and the fireworks to the parade of competitors and the closing ceremony and everything in between. See the worlds best at their best. The ups and downs of everyone that took part in this spectacular event. There is the surprises from competitors that were not expected to do particularly well and there is the reactions of the medal winners and those that did a personal best. From Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps and Chris Hoy and the other top competitors to the participants in their first major event the level of commitment everyone gave is astounding. You can see the unsung heros that prepared the various stadiums and the equipment gave their best to make sure the event was the best it could have been. Not just from the world of sport but the world of entertainment there are faces you will recognize all the way through. The OLYMPICS is recognised as one of the greatest sporting events and it is held every 4 years in a different country and venue. The London 2012 games was as spectacular as any before it. In the words of lord Coe "We lit the flame,and we lit up the world".
