Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (963290-0403) Joystick

Don't get stuck, get this stick

I started playing Elire Dangerous with my mouse and keyboard. Not the greatest way to play but doable. That said I figured maybe I should look for a stick to help me out in the fighting department. I cranked up Google and got slammed with so many styles and configurations and not least of all different price points.

Some if these sticks go for upwards of a grand. Now don't get me wrong I like gadgets and buttons but to spend that much money to play a game that cost me 25 dollars jyst didn't make sense.

I read up on all the sticks that were out there and then I got to this one. I saw that they were selling for around 50 dollars (much more reasonable) and that it had a lot of nice features and enough buttons to map as to make it much handier than just a mouse and keyboard setup.

Searching it out on ebay I found it brand new for 23 dollars! At this price even if it was lousy I at least didnt lose a few months of car payments in the processing.

I received it very quickly and just as quickly popped it into an available USB port. Wow, immediately upon entering the game and taking off my flying felt incredibly fluid. I painstakingly went through the button mapping process and although the way the buttons on the base are in a somewhat tough position to get used to I eventually did.

Now, for a fraction of the cost I am flying and fighting out there with the best ( well mayby not the best but for sure with the upper mediocre) and am gaving a great and fun time.

I was doing so much better that the members in my wing took notice and I told them about this stick. Within 1 week we were all flying together with the same stick and are much better for it.

been through at least 20 of these from the beginning of these going on sale! i still have 3.if, you don`t drop them or beat on them they last a while! most of the one`s that broke we`re keeping it, in sync, electronics gets eratic and won`t stay still it will pull to a side, and it`s done after a while i had to keep unplugging it, and plug it back in. till they finally become unusable. and the hat switch, is kind of weak and will break under had use, then you open it up, glue the hat switch cage back together and you`ll be fine! it`s work $20.00 to $30.00 now! great if you know how to use

Though it is easy to use, there is definitely a learning curve if you, like me, are not used to using flight sticks.

With a traditional Xbox or playstation type controller I can start most games with confidence. I have been using these types for at least 13 years, thus I am adept at using them.

Logitech 3D extreme joystick

I haven’t found an air combat sim that uses a joystick that doesn’t cost $50 or a tank game where you use the joystick. Like 15 years ago I played a tank combat game with an M1 tank. It was a great game the tank was easy to drive using the twist function. I haven’t been able to use it but I love the layout of this joystick with enough buttons to push to piss off anyone lol. Exactly what i needed.

I love everything about the extreme 3d pro. The only thing is the throttle and its still better then nothing. It turns great and the buttons are easy to access. It looks sort of cheap but feels great in your hands. The base is firm and it doesnt move much on my wooden desktop. But i could use some adhesive to hold it down evsn firmer. You have to really put pressure to move it anyways. Ill definitely want a second stick eventually for more control but i dont technically need it. Amazing features, low cost.

This is easily one, if not, the best budget joystick to use.It's on the older side, but still produced brand new which allows for alot of games to build in support for it.

Useful Joystick

Excellent quality, great button configuration!

This is an excellent joystick, perfect for those complex military sims such as Mechwarrior. The button config is perfect, I love using it! Its very responsive, and you can tell its well made just by looking at it.

Great for Space Games.

A lot of variety on configuring almost every aspect of this joystick. Before it would interface with my computer I had to download an upgrade from Logitech. But it was quick and easy. I have used this joystick with Galaxy on Fire 2 and Evochron Legacy and it has performed flawlessly with both games. Seems to be well made and remains tight on the pivot. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Bought this to use with MFS 2020 and it work really well. Plenty of programmable buttons for my needs. The price is very affordable.
