Locked Up (DVD, 2004)

Enjoyable but not Great.

This film is a film that comments on both the state of German prisons and the mixed German attitudes regarding gay love. The film depicts stereotypical, to be expected failings of all prison systems. The prisoner lives are harsh, cruel with insensitive, corrupt guards. An interracial pair of male prisoners fall in love with each other with the attendant harassments from both the other inmates and the prison staff. The film is in German with English subtitles (many of which are misspelled). Even though the film does have full frontal nudity with some erotic sequences, it is not pornographic. The film has good sets (appears on location) with fairly good acting. The dialogue is slow paced, and the direction is awkward. The film does not move along very well. It is not a slick production. Love in a cell !

This movie knows no colors, it a beautiful love story, a white man, a black man, both gorgeous men, it not about race , it about love and far you will go to keep it.

Awesome Story line!

The movie was more than I expected. Great storyline, great actors, and mature realistic plot.
