James Last never disappoints!!

James Last never disappoints. Such an incredible group and FUN to listen and watch! This DVD wasn't as long nor as well done as the DVD done in 2005 but still well worth the purchase. James Last lets his orchestra members have as much fun and the audience does and yet pulls off perfection in their performances. I didn't enjoy the singers on the DVD on this show. This one was alittle to much lights and glitz and not enough orchestra members. Missed the accordians alot too! But all in all, very enjoyable. I do recommend his earlier DVD, CDs more.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

James Last DVDs are fantastic!

James Last is primarily an arranger of popular music. His DVDs are of live performances such as this 2007 concert at Royal Albert Hall. His "band" consists of 12 to 15 strings, usually 8 brass players, at least 1 woodwind, electric bass, electric & acoustic guitars, drum set, auxillary percussion, piano and/or synthesizer and sometimes an accordian. These are all world-class musicians and you can tell that they thoroughly enjoy performing Mr. Last's arrangements. I have 4 James Last DVDs and this is my favorite, but they are all excellent! My favorites tunes are the opener Pulsar, The Way We Were, Tequila and a unique arrangement of Greensleeves. Orange Blossom Special and Hip Hop Polka are huge crowd pleasers and demonstrate Last's range in variety.
Listening to his music is good, but watching one of these live performances is almost indescribable. You have to see it for yourself.
