Good game if you can get it at the right price.

K&L 2 is a sequel. As such, it follows the original's formula but makes some nice improvements. The controls in K&L 2 are tighter and the levels have better difficulty balance. I found the original's last level insanely difficult and some other levels had weird difficulty spikes. K&L 2 is consistently challenging without inducing the desire to throw the controller at the TV.

The only real negative about K&L 2 is that it's short. Very short. I completed the SP campaign in 5 hours. I expect a $60 title to have at least 8 hours of solid SP gameplay. The good news is that I only paid ~$20 for the game on Ebay. It's worth that amount.

MP was fun and worked well.

The True Review

Kane and Lynch Dog Days is a well done game. I am going to review each part of it without using spoilers.
First lets talk about the campaign. It takes place sometime after the events of Dead Men. Kane is still doing mercenary work while Lynch has settled in Shanghai and is doing business for an American who works on both sides of the law there. Lynch calls Kane for his help on one last job that pasy enough for them to retire. The job is arms smuggling to Africa. The campaign lasts roughly 6-7 hours but it does not seem short rather just the right size and delivered well.
Next is the controls. The cover system is fixed and works more fluidly like Gears of War including that it is mapped to a button instead of auto locking. The shooting feels fun and the down but not dead system is a welcome replacement to morphine shots. In DBND you fall on your back and can crawl and shoot/reload with the option to get up or up in cover whenever you choose. The regenerating health system similar but better than MW2 is also cool. You can also sprint, crouch and change the side of the character your on with the press of a button.
The soundwork is done very well. Guns sound realistic and character voices work. Hit detection and gun accuracy is great. Every time you reload or switch guns you actually see you character do it and when your in cover and not doing anything your character will actually smile at the camera.
You can play co-op online or splitscreen with a friend. If you dont have internet you can also play the Fragile Alliance mode offline with bots. You dont respawn as a cop in this Arcade mode but you get 3 lives to get the highest score possible. You will also rank up as you play Arcade mode just as you would online so you can use all the guns, excluding a few downloadable content only ones.
The multiplayer returns with 3 modes. Fragile Alliance, Cops and Robbers and Undercover Cop. You rank up to unlock new guns and it even tells you what kind of criminal and how trustworthy you are. The same is said for opponents too. There are six maps and while this seems to be not to many they are done so well thats all thats needed. Even so there is a content pack for download that unlocks 3 new maps that look pretty cool too.
The weapons range from handguns to assualt rifles. There are at least 10 handguns including revolers. There are 14 submachine guns from the PAC-10(chinese version of the Mac-10) to full size ones. Assault rifles go from Ak's all the way to high powered rifles. The shotguns are the smallest catagory with only six althoug the last you unlock is a cool full size auto shotty that kinda loosk like an M-TAR.
As with the maps there are some weapon packs too that give you 1-3 more guns in each catagory. These are mostly silenced versions of ones you already have though.
This game gets a 8.9-9.3 of 10 in my book. If your wondering why other reviews like gamestop and Ign gave it lower reviews its probably because the reviewers like the one for Ign are fighting game specialist and not in this catagory.

Decent game for Adults, Worth 5 bucks not worth 59!

First one was better , this one has action action action! Which is a plus, Guns are VERY limited, NOT FOR KIDS at All, not even to watch you play... Its Bad guys killing bad guys and the ending was completely Stupid. I also think the storyline could have used some work. This game allows you to get lost in the story line. However there is only one way to go and thats forward... I felt like it was way too short beat it in a few hours... But for 5 bucks! I would buy it again, I just would have felt terrible if I paid 59.00 bucks for it (the original retail price)

But worth a look, it was not difficult to play, if your a FAN of K&L then you will like it, I am too used to playing Army of Two. So the lack of weapon customization was sad. But it was what I expected!Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Bigger, Badder, Better.

Despite getting some "Average" reviews by game rating sites, Dog Days has me seriously impressed.

Do yourself a favor and ignore sites like ign and stop taking their reviews to heart.

Eidos took all complaints about the first game to heart when K&L 2 development started, and fixed every major complaint.

Dog Days features a new cover system that actually works, Better shooting mechanics, reworked multiplayer (with additional modes) among other things.

A great buy, might want to check out K&L: Dead Men first so you know where the story goes, and it's awesome, but beware, it's pretty frustrating, but shows just how far Dog Days has come.

Bad: Story mode is a little on the short side, really cool camera effects may be distracting to some.

Fun, but short.

The single player campaign was short, but exciting. The highlight of the game was the visual style. Everything was viewed through the lens of a cheap camcorder associated with taped gang violence, and hence all the amateur flaws of such a camera were part of the game's presentation. Strong lights would cause vertical flares in the screen, and there was a constant film grain. Additionally, the blurred censored for blown-off heads were a nice touch. A lot of folks deemed this censorship unnecessary, but they're unaware that the effect was less for hiding gore, and more to contribute to the visual theme of the game.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
