Impressive compact solution
Fitted one to my granddaughter's Toyota Aygo where space is at a premium. Managed to tuck it away behind the factory headunit which she wanted to keep. Replaced the factory front (dash) and rear (door) speakers with some Sony XS-FB 1020 & 1730 (OEM front ones were a joke).
Wiring is a bit of a fiddle if your headunit does not have DIN OUT plugs. If so, you have to cut plugs off included harness and wire them to the factory speaker output from headunit. Either way you also need to wire amp output harness to the speaker loom from the factory radio.
Once you have done that, a 12v direct power supply (20amp) line is recommended direct to battery.
First switch on, and the sound quality is an immediate improvement. However the Kicker has an ace up it's sleeve. You connect a microphone (included) and run a setup mode using a pink noise sound file from their website, and the amp automatically tunes the dynamics to the capabilities of your speakers. The results before and after doing this setup are astounding. If you really value great sound quality, invest in some quality speakers too and you will get the best out of this little amp. Kicker Key 200.4 DSP Amp. Great for tight spaces. Provides great sound control and simple to setup with included tuning mic.
This is my second Kicker Key 200.4 which have proven to be great little amps for areas of limited space. I use these in Bi-Amp mode to control a 4 way (woofer and tweeter) set up. The installation is straightforward and the Kicker support team are very helpful should you need any additional help with the installation. 50w x 4 is perfect for that next stage whether using the factory head unit or an aftermarket addition. Brilliant
It transformed my components, and it’s still got plenty in the tank if I want to put more powerful speakers in as the gain has barely moved, great piece of tech!
