Riveting courtroom drama, One of the best movies i have ever seen.

One of the best movies I've ever seen and I'm more of an action movie guy. Definitely worth the 3 hours of viewing just to hear the last line. Some of the most powerful performances I have seen, If you liked Montgomery Clift in Red River you will be shocked at what a great performance he gave in this one. Superb Movie That Might Rate Multiple Viewings

Everything about this film, except for the gruesome topic it deals with, is great! It's another notch on Tracy's belt as a marvelous actor, but the other characters also turn in A+ performances,. Its a compelling movie, dealing with the Holocaust, and the aftermath of judgment on the officials who were involved in aiding Hitler's rise to complete, unquestionable power. This era was heartbreaking and egregious, but it seems the whole world was to blame for this slaughter of millions. No one wanted to be involved, and the Holocaust was the result of ignoring Hitler. Historical movie about Germany after WWII.

It starts off really slow; just German music playing for about 5 minutes, but is seems to be historically accurate. Spencer Tracy plays the main character - an American judge who has to determine if German judges, who condemned prisoners to the concentration camps, or to be sterilized, did so lawfully, during the Third Reich. The movie is based on history. The characters portray hr trials held after World War 2. It's not a movie that can be described as entertaining because of the subject matter. Courtroom drama at it's best!

One of Stanley Kramer's best films, this powerful courtroom drama showcases some of the best performances ever from Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster, Maximillian Schell (Oscar Best Actor), Judy Garland, Montgomery Clift, Marlene Dietrich, and Richard Widmark. The film clips of Nazi atrocities shown during the trial was a bit gratuitous, but gave context to the prosecution's case against these German judges. I could not take my eyes off the screen while watching this movie. It completely gripped me and did not let go!

Not as descriptive as it should have been. Judges not generals were on trial.

The court setting for these post WWII trials was interesting but I would have preferred to see the trials of the military generals and officers rather than the German judges.
