Over Produced

Excellent guitar work, of course, but the production is too thick and takes away from the real Clapton sound. With that kind of talent you don't need to add all the studio hoopla. With this album, Clapton gets away from his base and panders a bit to then popular, more self indulgent sound promoted by the record labels. Still, it is Eric Clapton with some, if not all, good tunes and his expertise with the stratocaster; that's why I bought it.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Another outstanding CD from the Master of the Strat !!
Includes the Hits "Pretending", "Bad Love", "No Alibis", & "Before You Accuse Me".
EC sounds like he's havin' fun covering the Elvis classic "Hound Dog", and he shows off his 1ST CLASS blues-playin' on "Old Love".
We also get to hear George Harrison's "Run So Far"...13 years before it was released on George's "Brainwashed".

Journeyman - Eric Clapton (CD 1989)

This CD is one of Clapton's best. I think he chose a collection of songs that he was able to add his magical feel to. Being one of the most respected musicians in the world. This album really shows his understanding of different genres. His guitar tracks on this album are superb and flawless. world class standards for record producing for the guitarist have been set. all his albums are good. this one is pretty good too. he had it so down by this point every song is a jam. good band too
