British Columbo

Jonathan Creek was developed as a kind of British Columbo and does not disappoint this Columbo fan. I also really enjoy the Jonathan Creek podcast, by Gerry and Iain, which I download from iTunes. ... then you owe it to yourself to watch this show. Start with the earlier seasons, though.

Kept me guessing

I viewed this series years ago and remembered it was fascinating. The characters are unusual and the story lines kept me guessing.
