Jeff Dunham
You cannot but enjoy Jeff Dunham and his group of characters from Wakter the Vietnam Veteran to Peanut, the purple wonder, and Jose the Jalopino on a Stick. No matter how many times I watch this DVD I laugh so hard that I get a headache. To watch a true professional, Jeff Dunham, as he interfaces with each of his characters is winderful to watch. His ease of performance and regular reaction to each of his creatures makes watching him really entertaining. I can watch his series of DVDs over and over without ever getting bored. Very Versatile Ventriloquist: Laugh-Out-Loud Funny!
Jeff Dunham proves that he has terrific comedic range in his album Arguing with Myself. Starting with a very funny stand-up routine without his ventriloquist dummies, he puts the humor pedal to the metal and never lets up. His willingness to handle original, edgy material through the use of his "friends" is especially hilarious, particularly when he stops the show while one of the audience leaves to go to the restroom.
Dunham brings a variety of stereotypes to life through characters like the old curmudgeon Walter, his black "manager" Sweet Daddy D, redneck Bubba J, Jose Jalapeno-on-a-Stick, and, of course, the insanity of Peanut. The interaction he has with the audience is stunning and extremely entertaining.
Arguing with Myself includes a bleeped track which enabled us to watch the DVD with our four-year-old daughter. The dummies and comedy material held her attention throughout. It is wonderful entertainment for the whole family, although some of the subject matter may be difficult for some. I HIGHLY recommend Jeff Dunham and this DVD.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
Jeff Dunham - Arguing with Myself (2006, DVD)
I decided to buy this cd after seeing him on Comedy Centeral. He is really funny and i just had to have the cd for my collection. I like the different dummys he uses and the way he can minipulate his voice to use them even two or three at a time. This was very funny, if a person don't laugh at this, there is something searously wrong with them. I highly recommend this video, you will laugh. The best thing to do is to have friends over and share the experience. It has settings for adult or a setting to beep out the bad words. The content is really the best i have ever seen. Dunham-Can't argue with this dvd
First of all, this DVD shows the routine that Jeff did on the Comedy Central special of the same name. It also includes material that was NOT aired.
Just so you know, Jeff Dunham is a comedian/ventriloquist with a wide range of puppet "friends" that help him with his stage act. His two most famous are Walter, an old sourpuss who insults everyone with his sarcastic wit and Peanut, a "Woozle" from Micronesia. Both of them are the primary stars of the show, with two totally different personalities, provided by Jeff, of course. With over 15 years of experience, Dunham proves himself to be the consummate artist, having honed his craft to a fine art. As someone who is learning the art of ventriloquism, I consider Jeff Dunham to be an excellent role model of how to perform professionally. It is truly amazing, especially when you consider that he is self-taught in the art.
What can I say? This is the funniest dvd in my collection and I have watched it at least 5 times. It still makes me laugh out loud. This is one of the few shows in my collection in which everything from the main movie to the bonus material and the audio commentaries are well worth listening to. There is even one bonus scene with a peanut doll and a chawauwa (sp?) dog doing something too funny (and adult) to describe in a family venue. Had to watch it twice just to make sure that I was actually seeing it right!
If you are looking for something truly funny to add to your collection, this is it. I bought it for about $16 and consider it money well spent.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
A hilarious act and an awesome performance!
I first saw Jeff Dunham when he performed on Comedy Central Presents and I loved him right away. He has to be the best ventriloquist in this generation. This man has talent and he's not afraid to use it on the stage.
My most favorite puppet of Dunham's is probably Peanut. The voice Dunham uses for him is funny and Peanuts appearance (green hair, worn out shoe, etc) makes you think, "This puppet's gonna be great!"
The thing that I most love about Dunham is the way he makes his puppets come to life. After a while, you'd think that these puppets were real people and were really talking.
This performance was spectacular. I highly recommend it. Dunham's performance is outstanding and it doesn't surprise me that he's won numerous awards for ventriloquism. 5/5 overall.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
Jeff Dunham; Arguing with Myself DVD
I saw this program on Comedy Central and HAD to own it! The dvd is a menagerie of characters that Jeff Dunham brings to life such as Walter the bitter ex-military senior citizen. This one was so funny it litterally had my wife and I on the floor laughing. In addition to this one, was Fat Daddy Dee the pimp, Jose Jalapeno on a stick, and my all time favorite, Peanut the strange pink native of micronesia.
One feature that I found quite pleasant is that the dvd menu gave you a choice of the BLEEPED OR UNBLEEPED VERSION. I wish Hollywood would do this more.

Hilarious!
Very funny! Jeff uses different and unused material from other comics. This dvd has both bleeped and unbleeped versions, but the bleeped still has a lot of language that might not be suitable for your youngsters. As is the case with most ventriloquists, there are times when you can see him mouth the words, but he's also able to carry on three-way conversations with two puppets at the same time which would be hard. The puppet's facial expressions and the way Jeff uses the internal mechanisms to create those expressions are a riot. Lots of fun here. Achmed the Dead Terrorist is not on this video, and he was my introduction to the humor of Jeff Dunham. Now I want to buy another video that includes Achmed.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
The funniest commedian I have seen in years!
Jeff Dunham - Arguing with Myself in absolutely the funniest commedian performance I have seen in years. I can't remember the last time a performer had me laughing hysterically; but Jeff did it! The way he works his puppets is absolutley amazing. I first watched it on Netflix using Watch it Now, just intending to watch the beginning to decide if I wanted to put it on my Netflix Queue. I couldn't stop watching it, and by the time I was halfway over, my wife and three teenage children had put chairs along side me, and my whole family watched it at my desk. I immediately purchased it (on E-bay) because I knew that I would want to watch it several times with friends. I've watched it now three times. I also listened to it while the kids were watching it in the car on a road trip (even with just the audio, it is absolutely hilarious). It is wonderful to watch and laugh with friends. Jeff is so awesome that you have to keep reminding yourself that it is not the puppets talking. If he ever comes to town to perform -- I'll be the first in line. Jeff Dunham has got to be one of the funniest comedians I've ever seen. My wife and I watched the DVD at least four times and it's still as funny as it was the first time we watched it. Walter is my favorite and my wife likes Bubba J., peanut, and Sweet Daddy Dee. Walter reminds me of a teacher I had in school, while Bubba J. makes you laugh just by listening to him talk about his wife.Would highly recommend anyone that is feeling low and need a good laugh to watch this DVD. The DVD also has two versions to watch in case smaller children are around. A bleeped out version and one that isn't bleeped. I bought the DVD after catching part of his act on tv. Jeff Dunham DVD
This stand up comic is the BEST I've EVER seen. His humor is very very funny!! He doesn't curse a whole lot like many other stand up comics who choose to use every other word as a curse word. As a matter of fact, in the beginning of the DVD, there is a choice selection of uncensored or censored version a person can select. Of course what sets this stand up comic apart from all the others is the talent he has of performing as a ventriloquist. Each act he performs with his 4 puppets are in themselves funny and "one of a kinds."
