Superb movie
A superb movie vividly depicting the racism of the Deep South in the 1960s. Stunning performances by all involved, and an excellent musical score combine to provide near perfection. I had already seen this film more than once, but enjoyed it immensely, even though I knew what was about to happen in it. Wonderful, wonderful film!!!
One of the best films ever made with the wonderful Sydney Poitier and Rod Steiger. From the start right to the end a roller coaster ride . Exceptionally gripping but with some really funny episodes. If you have never seen this fil you are in for a real cinematic treat. Personally I have seen this film about 6 times and could watch it again tomorrow. A heat worth sharing
I was surprised at how well this film has stood the test of time. Although released in 1967 it remains sharp in both sound and vision. If its age was not betrayed by the younger appearance of the main characters, so well portrayed by Rod Steiger and Sidney Poitier, it could have been made last year rather than 5 decades ago. The locations used appear to be authentic, and the sultry heat permeated the duration of the film. Such a great classic film
An excellent cast, headed by Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger, interweave American South prejudice’s of the 60’s with a gripping murder mystery. Great cinematography emoting the ‘heat of the night’.

Old classic murder mystery with amusing moments where the powers that be don't get on and dropping massive clangers gives the story it's moments. Sidney at his best.
