I really love this show and was happy to see that it was out on dvd. While not every episode interests me, the value was excellent, and the disk quality as far as video and audio is really great too. The only problem is that there are skips on some of the disks, making it impossible to view the episode where the disk is skipping. Not saying that it will be like that on every box set produced, but it is a possibility. Still, for the money I paid, it is a great value.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Nostalgic and interesting

Good TV series for those that like strange phenomena. If you are expecting high Def. video quality you will be dissapointed. Some episodes were digitized from TV broadcast quality video tape, something like S-Video 480i. Video Quality is decent however not as good as DVD. All the rest of the episodes were digitized from film. The quality of those episodes are of DVD quality, although some still exhibit some low resolution artifacts. I think that the rerelease of this series on less discs was accomplished by lowering the compression quality of the mpeg2 video streams, I could be wrong though. It just seems hard to explain if this was digitised from film it should have far better quality of those episodes. Audio quality is appreciable however, not HIFI. Discs are dual layer DVD, maybe that is how they fit all the episodes on half the amount of discs compared to other sets of this series. I do not know if this series was totally recorded on film. If it was, and transfered to bluray, it would make a very decent collection. This collection is worth the price, and a very entertaining series to watch. Best asthetic thing I like about the shows is the commentator Leonard Nimoy and the music, it's so interesting, hypnotic and spooky weird heh heh heh...Vollständige Rezension lesen

Nice nostalgic collection. Sound and video quality are indicative of a video recorded from old shows.

I used to love watching this show, when I was a kid. The episodes are still fun and interesting to watch, though some are now "dated". The sound and video are a bit "rough", but this series was apparently recorded from some really old tapes, or something. Still a great piece of nostalgia, especially if you are a fan of Leonard Nimoy, or if you were simply a fan of the series. This is great.

I grew up watching reruns in the 80s and this show always stuck with me. This DVD set is great. The episodes are very high quality. It’s a no-frills edition. There are no special features or anything like that but you get 144 episodes for a low price. Some episodes are on YouTube but they aren’t always good quality so if you really want this show in your collection then I highly recommend this set because this will go out of print and will be difficult to find. Was looking for a piece of my childhood. This delivered, the visual quality is very good as is the audio. Brings back memories of childhood on family night seeing the stories for the first time. Interesting and ahead of its time

I really like this series of DVDs. The range of topics is vast and it touches on things that are now commonly seen on various shows. It delves into things like the paranormal, mysterious places, and psychic phenomena (and much more). It is dated in terms of video quality but that's really not distracting.
