Don't miss this one
I was on a tour of Morocco when I met a bookstore manager from South Africa. We began discussing books as we are both avid readers. She was so enthusiastic in recommending I Am Pilgrim that I ordered it as soon as I returned home to the states. I now have a have a new favorite author. I was barely a third of the way through and I felt as I had just read three totally engrossing books because there are vignette tales within tales that complement each other and yet all the time feeding and fleshing out the main story line. So smoothly done that there are no transition stalls trying to figure out where the characters are, what they are doing and how they all fit together. What a great read. Best Spy Thriller of 2014
I've been reading mystery and spy thrillers for 40 years and have learned to appreciate a good story and good writing when I come across them. I Am Pilgrim gives you both. The story seems like it's taken from the current CNN news and while you never know if this terror is just totally a fictional construct or not, the descriptions of how the terrible event that the plot gives you seems like it could really happen. Better yet is the writing. Told from 2 points of view of the terrorist and the government agent, the story almost carries itself along, and when you put the book down, you feel that the story is still with you as an actual event. "I Am Pilgrim" is the identification code for the books main character.
