It's VERY all right, Jack!
A wonderful British film. Wonderful performances from Peter Sellers, Terry-Thomas, and Ian Carmichael. It encapsulates a bygone age, yet is uncannily relevant to our times, with union unrest, strikes and so forth. At £2.20 it was very reasonably priced (postage included).Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Really entertaining film. Well worth viewing.
I saw this film many years ago and liked it. I wondered if it had stood the test of time and it certainly has. It is very entertaining and a snapshot of the bosses v unions struggles in the past though from a comedic angle. Peter Sellers is wonderful - in fact it is packed with stars of the past. Well worth a view.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
Union versus management
Typical view of the difference of the working class and management as seen in films of this era. Well acted and good characterisation. Well worth watching

Disapointed.
We ordered this dvd as it was one of our favourite films, but we were told that it was the wrong code and wouldn't play in Australia and were refunded the money.
I'm all right Jack
This is an excellent movie from the Boulting Brothers, a very telling and funny commentary on industrial Britain after the War. This is the work ethic and practise that my father had to contend with when he was working his way up. It's a delightful insight.
The performances are superb. Ian Carmichael fans will adore him in this - a real quality performance. Then compare him in this to his superb roles as Wooster and then Lord Wimsey. Brilliant.
And sit back and enjoy the brilliance of a young Peter Sellers - twice. Watch out too for coniving Richard Attenborough and Terry-Thomas. And John Le Mesurier. Is there any quality British film that John wasn't in? Lastly, give credit for the telling performance of Irene Handle.
The ending seems unsatisfactory, but then life itself is not always neat. This still amounts to one great British movie. The likes of this couldn't have been made in the US. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible to make it in the UK either, anymore.
Grab it and enjoy it while you can.
