This is a wonderful story of strong women who hold the fort when their men (husbands, lovers, sons) go off to WW II. The character development is superior. You come to know and respect them for their strengths and weaknesses. Great series BUT...

Excellent series provided you watched season one. production quality is excellent. Easy to get into the characters. Now here is the only bad part about season 2 .. There is no season 3! and you are left hanging on the individual character stories. It left you very disappointed let down when it ended. A Wonderful Series

I was so happy with Season 2 of this terrific season and am very sad to hear that it will not be coming back. What a shame that such a wonderful show that showed us what live was like in rural England during the war from a fresh new perspective and dealt with issues that are less discussed or seen. I am so sorry that we can't find more shows that give us a better view of humanity and its highs and lows and interactions. GIVE US MORE!

Excellent Series

Great British drama

Excellent follow up to season one, great back story on characters, someone must pick up this drama as has a fantastic cliff hanger

Two Season series ended too soon, but fortunately scriptwriter went to book format.

LOVE this series. Ended too soon! So needed to complete with books by author who had outlined five series. Be prepared with a cliff hanger that was not visually resolved. Books did resolve it. What's distressing, is that Season 2 is the LAST season and hopes for a continuance is fleeting. There is no wrap-up of events and characters' lives.

But I have thoroughly enjoyed Seasons 1 & 2. It's unfortunate for us viewers that it leaves us hanging.

Excellent Show!!!!

Absolutely loved this show! We got so involved in the lives of these characters and were very disappointed that there are only 2 seasons.
