Must have for serious students of military history
A very detailed history of the United States Navy and its operations during World War 2. As a student of military history, I was aware of the larger scope of the Navy's involvement during this conflict, especially in the Pacific Theater, but this series (15 volumes!) is full of smaller details that are left out of other historical accounts. The writing is concise and uses both Allied and Axis first-hand accounts of what happened. This gives the reader a fuller understanding of how events unfolded as they did. The author lays blame (and praise) on both sides as it is warranted. His impartiality is appreciated. I recommend this series for anyone who wants to expand and fill out their understanding of the activities of the naval forces of both sides during the vast, far-reaching conflict.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
