High Noon

A suspenseful tale of a town lawman, Gary Cooper, and town's people, who all discover that the bad men he and the town's people sent to prison for years, had their sentences shorted. Cooper is torn between enforcing the law and going away with his new wife Grace Kelly, or staying to see them in prison again. See, the bad men sent to prison are coming back to haunt him and the town's people for revenge, and Cooper must make the tough decision to either run away from the problem, or stay and enforce the law. as the clock on the wall ticks time away, he eventually loses support of people in the town, and his wife runs out on him too. Cooper plays the part of a tough as nails lawman, who is against evil doers, and struggles with difficult decisions he must make. the bad men, the miller brothers and their clan have nothing on their minds but murder and lawlessness.
What is striking about this film is the camera catches the minutes ticking away on the wall clock, the gutless town's people who don't support his effort, as the suspense builds, Cooper has less than an hour to muster support, or take his chances alone, as he knows his wife is leaving him, because she doesn't understand his logic. The film is set in a dusty and dirty town, where it seems that nobody cares what happens. Familiar faces in this classic black and white film are of course the one's already mentioned, plus Lloyd Bridges (diver dan), Lee Van Cleef (the good, bad the ugly) Henry Morgan (mash & the shootist), many of these stars furthered their careers in many other movies.

It was very quick.

I saw High Noon on the Turner Classic Movies channel and I want to buy it for my collection, but I did't want to pay a lot of money.
