Variable geometry makes this a firm favourite...
This is excellent value and given its competitive price, well-made. Being able to switch between the graphite and a steel point means that either of the compasses can also be used as dividers which is very useful. The variable geometry at the base of the legs is particularly helpful when needing to draw especially small circles or indeed arcs or circles that are wider than the natural span of the legs. Almost great, but the big one is too easy to knock off its setting
The smaller compass is excellent, but on the larger one, the moveable heads don't lock well, no matter how hard you tighten the thumbwheels, so it is very easy to knock them out of position accidentally - at which point your arc no longer has the radius you set it to.

Helix compass
Bought this to use in my wood workshop, great tool as I make things as small as buttons and as big as 16 inch fruit bowls. I draw plans on paper as well as wood so don't need a heavy duty compass. This covers a multitude of drawing tools in one box , I recommend this. Vollständige Rezension lesen
