well back in the day this game was great and now buying it new was only 29.00 it would have cost over 100.00 when these games came out puting them ina 3 pack is great!!!!!!! i mean the grafic's are great for the day now there still better then some games out there!!!!!!! it is a great game in the day this was the best shooter and now half life 2 is that so this is a great game and a great deal!!!!! plus you dont have to have a super computer to run this you can run this on your every day office home computer you dont need a 5,000.00 computer to play and that is a big plus so wut ever people say this is a great game back in the day and now it is still in the top 20 shooters!!!!!Vollständige Rezension lesen...

4 Classics in One Amazing Package

Half-Life Anthology is an amazing package that contains 4 classics.

The first, Half-Life, is one of the most well known video games, and helped shape the first person shooter genre. Made from a heavily modified Quake engine, Half-Life puts you in the shoes of a scientist named Gordon Freeman at the Black Mesa Research Facility when everything goes awry, and you're left fighting your way out against aliens and zombies. A must have for any gamer.

The second, Opposing Force, is the official PC expansion pack for Half-Life. In it, you play the role of Adrian Shepherd, a soldier in the same time as Half-Life, getting to experience more of the game. You can explore new areas, revisit old ones, all while wielding the old weapons and several new ones.

The third, Blue Shift, was the original Dreamcast expansion pack that was later ported to PC. In this, you play as Barney Calhoun, a security guard during "the incident", and get to explore new areas of Black Mesa.

Forth, the package comes with Team Fortress Classic, a Half-Life engine port of the extremely popular Team Fortress mod for Quake. This is, in my opinion, one of the most fun games of all time. Team up with your friends and choose from one of 9 classes to defeat the enemy, with dozens of different strategies.

Finally, it should be noted that owning Half-Life, you are able to play many, many modifications made by the fan community, absolutely for free. This adds limitless possibilities to the game, and a great way to make a name for yourself as a mod maker.

While the games are old by 2007 standards, they are in no way 'aged'. The graphics are phenominal, and the story immersive. A wide array of weapons to choose from, and lots of enemies to fight off, it's sure to deliver hours of excitement.

The games require you have a Steam account, and a relatively fast internect connection. The system requirements are very low by 2007 standards, so it should run no problem on even a 5 year old PC.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

EULA is horrible must use "STEAM" Below Average Game

The game its self is alright, the graphics are OK considering the age of the game but the sound is a little cheap. I would compare the graphics on this game to Duke Nukem Atomic but the sound is much worse. The EULA actually says you don't own the game and they can force you to stop playing it anytime they want. You have to download their "STEAM" and have internet access to use it. I like the fact that you don't need the CD to run the game every time, but you probably won't play it enough to notice. If you are considering this game consider Halo. You can get Halo for the same price and it is a much, much better game. The only problem I have with Halo is there is no Halo 2 for the PC.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Requirement not shown in the original description

I thought I would like to try the game and getting it for a reasonable price, I figured I didn't have much to lose! However, after rec'g it, the package tells me the product is subject to my acceptance of the Steam subscriber agreement (SSA). It says I must activate the game via the internet by registering for a Steam account and accepting the SSA! I have to go to their web page and read it and if I don't want to accept it, return it unopened in accordance with the retailer's return policy. I don't want to accept it and this provision was not mentioned in the description on EBay. It'll cost me almost as much as I paid to return it so it's in a cabinet and I won't be using it. Great Game!

This is a great game. Good story and a must have for anyone whose played Half-life 2. This package, not only comes with Half Life 1, but comes with Opposing forse, Blue Shift, and Team Fortress Classis! All of which are also great games. The only drawback is that it's a relitivly old game, and the graphics aren't that good, but the gameplay and story make up the difference.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Unexpected Problem

I bought this game because I had recently purchased and played The Orange Box, and I wanted to see what Half-Life 2's predecessor was like. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the game once I got it; Steam, the company that controls the games, required online activation of the product before I could use it. It was already registered to someone else, and for some reason, I couldn't transfer the game to my account. i had a great desire to play the legendary FPS again after 4-5 years. and i was glad tht i found the title on ebay at such a low price and quick shipping.

i love it

I enjoy 100% it came in the mail sooner than i thought. my friend has it to and told me to gat it my self so we could play it online together. and we are having a blast.
