HTC Touch Dual

I bought this phone because i was looking for a small sized smartphone with physical keyboard at a low price. It has nice size and weight and looks great. Its easy to use, and the screen has great colours. Surprisingly i found easier to use the virtual keyoard than the other one. Only downsize is that is doesnt have Wifi, but if you dont find that important is the best option in that range of price.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

What to do with your fingers? Touch something!

Nice, stylish black phone and pda in one device. You can use your fingers to operate with phone and all software and it is really cool.

400Mhz processor and 128RAM brings you a perfect perfomance. However watching video on device is not comfortable because of tiny screen size. But you can do everything you like to do on PDA - reading ebooks, listening music, surfing in the web etc.

+
Wonderfull finger touch screen.
Fast processor.
A lot of RAM.
Expandable memory.

-
Tiny screen.
As for me - useless slider keyboard.

HTC Touch Dual 16-key

This WM6.1 phone is a touch screen with a slide-out numeric keypad and 4 extra buttons, totalling 16 keys. There is a 20-key qwerty keyboard version (similar to the Blackberry Pearl keyboard) with essentially 2 letters dedicated to each key, not 3 as with the standard numeric keypad.

First of all, I prefer touch screen for interface and WM Professional programs and functionality over the WM Standard (non-touchscreen) devices. And I prefer T9/XT9 text entry over Qwerty because I like to be able to easily type one-handed without my thumb getting wore out going all other the place, and especially when I'm busy and don't have the time to pay close attention to little buttons every moment. And I prefer hardware keys over touchscreen keys for the actual data entry. So, this was just the combination in one device that I prefer most.

Wi-Fi isn't that important to me, so I didn't need that. And there isn't a 16-key version of this device released in the US (besides a T-Mobile branded one), so I had to get the European/Asian unlocked one, which eliminates the opportunity for US 3G coverage. But if that was the only real thing I was going to have to give up for all I get, that was fine with me. It still supports US GSM EDGE.

This combination of features is extremely rare for WM Pro devices. Most are either full Qwerty bar or slider phones, or completely touch only. The only other I know of with numeric keypad and touchscreen is the HP iPAQ 610 series (again, ironically no US release, so I used the 614c European release). It maxed out at WM6.0 official ROM, and had a few annoying bugs that HP never released for correction.

So, I have been thoroughly please with the device. Yes, it has only a couple hardware buttons that are customizable (including using third party software that further customizes some buttons), but again, this was about the only other trade-off for having what I was looking for.

The device works great, has excellent brightness for a WM Pro device when in the sun, and it responds quickly to commands. The OS is very stable, and HTC has excellent features such as TouchFLO and a Home Screen plug-in that keeps me from having to use 3rd party software for weather access, profile switching (Normal, Silent, Vibrate...). Another excellent feature is when you tap the upper right of the taskbar area (where data, G/E/3G, speaker, and time are), it brings up a pop-up window with each of those items much bigger to then select, instead of how most devices make you have to tap the small icon on the taskbar individually, which is so hard to do with a thumb, on the go, etc. Great idea...why isn't this standard on carrier-branded devices as well?

These and others are extra little features like this that HTC has added to this (and from what I hear, other HTC unlocked devices) that the US carrier-branded versions don't ever seem to get. I don't know why this is.

The device itself is very sturdy and doesn't feel or look cheap. It actually has a brazen silver metallic finish, with chrome around the sides. The camera is two-sided, so you can easily do a self-portrait while seeing yourself on the screen.

I was impressed with the very sharp, heavy packaging, and the accessories included. Headset, 2 styli, felt slip case (not beltclip), screen protector (!!), wall charger, and sync cable.

Overall, just great...for me. It all depends on what you want in a device. But if you're looking for the same things I am, then this is great!

HTC TOUCH DUAL - USED

It was used but in very nice condition.
It is fully functional.
I didn't like that it has not GPS & WIFI, but that is nor the sellers fault. It's mine, because I didn't study well.
I did't get a charger and etc accessories.

But generally I am happy with my purchase.

Inexpensive phone but with some problems

I like the price was to low, the phone runs some problems, I repaired it here in my country paying extra money, they refunded me but I reject the refund. I was afraid buying other product from them.

Unlocked windows mobile phone

The HTC dual touch phone is pretty neat in style, screen is a tad small for me but fully functional, good to have the choice of a keypad as well as on screen writing, touch screen is not that sensitive and although it will respond to finger control it prefers the stylus for good response.
I live in the countryside with iphone reception being useless on all networks but my orange sim card in this Touch mobile phone holds good 3g signal and HSPDA internet downloads are quite fast, the volume of this phone is not that wonderful although acceptable, operating system of windows mobile is good for me but many people find it a nightmare scenario, the phone detected my network mms and internet settings within 2 seconds and installed them automatically, which is a good thing for me.
My ebay bought Touch secondhand has I was told a new screen which was good but the case had been abused very badly, still overall very nice little phone.

A great little phone

A great little phone, that does everything I need.

It was very easy to setup and use, it's got a good battery life and it's not too big, so you can put it in your pocket.

Being a Windows Mobile Device, you can easily sync it with all your contacts, your calendar, emails and documents. Plus lots of software can be installed.

The only thing missing is built in wireless and gps.

HTC Touch Dual

Phone is a great all in one device although the setup/manual is a little confusing.
Once you get rid of the Orange interface its much easier to use (My opinion)
Little on the heavy side, good battery life with medium usage, clear screen and quick response time.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
