Cartridges getting too old
This is the second time that I have bought an old unopened 98X cartridge and found that it did not work properly. It left big gray vertical gray streaks on all the pages. I am skilled at fixing laserprinters and I opened the cartridge to find out what was wrong, and the drum cleaning blade was too hard to effectively clean the drum, and it was not removing the residual toner. I ended up taking the old cleaning blade out of my old cartridge and put it in this "new" cartridge and got it to work. "Good price for rare H-P original toner cartridge"
Have an Hewlett-Packard 5m that has been my desktop printer for almost twenty years. Original H-P toner cartridges, not a refill. These have become hard to find. New Old Stock HP 98X Toner Cartridges Are Defective and Worthless
I have purchased five new old stock factory-sealed HP 98 toner cartridges from five different ebay sellers, and they all turned out to be completely useless. The cartridges leaked toner and the image was just a bunch of smears, smudges, and streaks on a dark background right from the first use of each toner cartridge. They leaked toner and created a mess inside my Laserjet printer.
These HP 98A & HP 98X OEM toner cartridges are very old and way past their useful service life. I believe that the image drum cleaning blade loses flexibility with age and causes the poor performance for these old toner cartridges.
ONLY BUY FROM A SELLER WHO WILL ISSUE A FULL REFUND IF THE TONER CARTRIDGE DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY.
Really, the only viable choice now is to buy newly rebuilt (old rebuilt/remanufactured ones would probably have the same problems) toner cartridges, since HP stopped making these HP 98A and 98X toner cartridges a long time ago.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Waste of money

I don't know why but the print quality is terrible
I swapped the toner cartridges, but the print quality is now *much* worse than the old toner :(

Toner cartridge was damaged and leaked toner - unusable
The tner cartridge was broken inside its sealed package and leaked toner all over as soon as it was opened. The cartridge was unusable and had to be thrown away. Big mess to clean up toner.
