Green Book (DVD, 2018)

Catchy would make me what to know more.

America 1962 is a long way from 2021. It has become one of my "watch a few times a year" list. ...like it is written by son of the driver who knew Shirley well..a very believable premise for a movie about someone who was one of America's greatest musicians and about whom little is written or known....
The movie is not "preachy" or judging of the characters ..,,,,I feel it wwlls a very good compelling story very well.. Every time I watch it, something else is revealed.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Excellent Movie about EarlyTraveling While Black in America

Enjoyed the movie when it came out on HBO and watched multiple times. Movie takes place in the early 1960's when I was in high school in the Northwest. Later on in mid to later 1960's while in the military I was station in the South for about a year between 1967 & 1968 in Memphis. MLK, Jr. was killed two weeks later. This movie for me, had memories of my past in an area of America I never really knew was like. I wanted a copy of it for myself. Enjoyed the movie. Entertaining. Movie With A Heart

This was an incredible movie filmed in and around New Orleans even though the story starts in New York. The acting was great, the story, almost unbelievable but true. I saw this movie on TV and enjoyed it so much I wanted to re-watch it and also share it with other family members.

Takes a bit of cultural savvy, but it works.

I've never seen Viggo Mortensen act so well. He and Mahershala Ali worked off of each other splendidly throughout. The subject matter was probably "dumbed down" more than a bit, but the sense of the Jim Crow Era got across just fine.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Movie if the times

A book the told blacks what hotels they could stay in.

Very good movie about a black concert pianist who goes on tour in the deep south. He hires a Italian driver and a friendship forms.
