Garmin GPS - Oldie but Goodie!

The unit is reliable, the battery charges easily and remains charged. Although the maps are a little outdated, it has served us well on a recent 2000 mile road trip.

New Product without box

I received this unit as advertised new without a box. It looked brand new and all the perrifials were there. However the unit did not work and the battery would not charge up. I gambled that it was only a defective battery so I bought a new battery and installed it following instructions on U-tube. The new battery charged up without a problem and the unit now performs excellently. I'm just disappointed that this unit was not tested before it was sold to me as new without a box and that I ended up with the added expense of having to buy a battery. Outdated

This model is too outdated for my taste. It takes awhile to find the signal. It is not easy to type on this device. Also the directions are very general and not specific at all. For example it just says "turn left, then turn right." I had a Garmin a few years back that had the 3D display as well as specific street names and highways. works well; got confused when I tried to use it off-road.

Works well on the road; doesn't seem to work when you set the mode to off-road for a hike in the woods, keeps spinning the map and confusing me.

Simple to Use Basic GPS

I was looking for value and really found it in this unit, $22 including shipping. It does not speak street names and have a lot of fancy features. It just says "turn left in 500 feet" or "turn left". It works great for getting you from point A to point B. Based on using it for a couple of months now, it seems to give good routes. The screen is bright and easy to view. The points of interest database is somewhat dated, but I knew that going in. I think I could update for free if I wanted; however, I am just as content to go online with my iPhone to search out some point of interest and then just enter the address into the GPS - no problem. Works fine in 2017

GPS really haven't changed much over the years. I bought this and it's simple to use, and my cell phone is free to do other things. Doesn't lose the signal like a cell phone either.

Fast delivery. Everything listed was included. Description of scratches were accurate. Having issues loading new maps (they won't load on Garmin.com) and the screen images don't match the road listed at the top of the screen. Am still trying to get it to work correctly.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Already had one...bought this as a back up.

I recently took on some courier driving work that could end up resulting in 30k-100k miles a year driving.

If the one I already have was to fail it would seriously impact my ability to do this job so I bought another one identical to the one I already have.

I've used it for years and find it user friendly and well thought out.
