Stand alone game
This edition really streamlines the apocalypse scale games and they are shorter, but some of the flair/character of 40k is lost in this game. The new "orders" tokens are a fun addition and make it feel more like you are a general giving orders rather than a character on the battlefield. Best way to play 40k
Apocalypse is the most fun I've had playing 40k in years. I highly recommend it as the best rules games workshop has produced for 40k in my opinion.
