Eric Clapton is one white boy who can really bring the raw blues straight out of the deep South. No tricks or frills here, just gutsy and powerful blues. Clapton goes way back to his roots (to the cradle)and rips off some great blues.

Great Cd for the blues lover, the live tracks have fine fidelity! My favorite was "Reconsider Baby". It should be in every Clapton collection.

Review of 'From the Cradle' by Eric Clapton

If you've never heard Clapton then you live on another planet where there is no access to Earth media. While he is certainly NOT the God he was once touted to be, he is, without doubt, one of the finest practioners of the blues around right now and has been for many years. This album, 'From the Cradle', finds Eric in excellent form both vocally and instrumentally. He is backed by a crack group of musicians. This is an excellent album and a must have for 'Blues aficionados' (hey...did I spell that right? Yes I did).

Eric excels at making the pure blues album

I never get tired of this artist's interpretation of old blues material. If you like to listen to the blues and mix up the downer songs with the uplifting ones, this is for you. I also recommend you listen to "Me and Mr. Johnson". Outstanding Performance on Every Song!!!

It's funny, but I could really care less for Clapton's rock stuff. But I feel his blues playing and his interpretations of these blues cuts is way above average. Every track is superb. The blues are easy to play, but the blues are hard to feel. You can tell Clapton loves this music and he's been feeling the blues for a long time. Highly recommended.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

British White Guy Captures the American Blues

I have purchased several copies of this album since it's 1994 release, first on cassette, then later CD. It is fantastic rot-gut blues performed by an amazing musician, Eric Clapton with full backup accompaniment.
