Frankford Arsenal Deprimer

Build is sturdy so this should last many years. The little plastic collets do not have positive storage and have already fallen off a couple of times so you'll need to find a safe place to store them or they'll likely be lost quickly. Because of the design of the collets this unit works great for bottleneck shaped brass but is a bit trickier to use with straight walled cases. The spent primer tube is also pressure fit so as it gets slightly worn over time I can foresee a point that it might flop loose from gravity and the weight of old primers, thus creating a small mess.

Bottom line though. It's well built, convenient, and simple to use. That coupled with the price makes this a recommended product.

Very good design, it's my new go-to deprimer device.

This is a great deprimer. Easy to set up, easy to use.
I've used a depriming rod, mallet, and a block to deprime for decades, and that was the cheapest way there is. So as far as strictly dollar spent for what it does, this deprimer is not the budget winner.
That being said, I can use this deprimer anywhere. Sitting on the range between stages, or at home watching videos. This gadget s excellent. Lately I've been impressed with Frankford Arsenal designs. The powder measure is very good, too.

The only criticism I have for the deprimer is a more secure method to stow the plastic collets. They aren't critical to the device function, but they do improve it's feel and possibly it's function.

Work's like a champ!

This depriming tool works as it is intended to. The one thing I had to do is file and dress the pin on the depriming rod as it was some what on the rough side. It would some times stick in the flash hole of the shell which made it hard to pull the shell out. I also do not use the spent primer catch tube. I just hold it over a small waste can and deprime the case. Saves time of having to empty the tube and wipe it clean as it does catch all the old primers and powder residue. great tool and it does save on press wear. Vollständige Rezension lesen

Designed very well, solid tool, easy to use.

Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Hand Deprimer is a solid tool, I have used this multiple times and found the design of this tool was developed to a high standard. The operation is smooth, easy and enjoyable to use, I have used .223 through to .452 cases without issue, to a point where I can sit down, watch TV and happily deprime the case. all good

collets are plastic but not under a lot of presser so shouldn't be a problem, and its a bit hard on your hand i rapped mine in a bit of rag and electrical taped it. all that being said its very good quality, easy to use, and you can go pretty fast. if i had a friend getting in to reloading i'd definitely tell him to pick one of these up.Vollständige Rezension lesen

This deprimer is so much better than expected!

I really did not expect this deprimer to be as good as it is. First of all for some reason I thought it was made of plastic, but is a cast metal and has some good weight to it.

The primer catch sometimes does pop off, if you let it get full and do not check it for a tight fit. It is a pressure fit, so you just need to push it on tight. If the catch is full, its quite a bit of weight and I think it works it loose, so either check once in a while, or keep it not so full.

I pounded through 2500 9mm brass as I wanted to deprime so I could run through the SS tumbler and have the primer pockets clean. This went way faster than I ever expected and now I think i'll always deprime my brass when I get home each time.

I think this is a very handy tool, I actually like using it and so far it has performed perfectly. I deprimed 308, 223, 270, 45 and only changed the die for the .45.

I think for a tool like this, the price is good, and you cant go wrong with this tool.

Frankford Handheld Deprimer

This deprimer is very handy as I could watch tv or sit outside while depriming my casings; works well with .223, 5.56 and 9mm, probably .380 and .40 also but have not got to those yet. It is a very solid piece. I read reviews that the catcher falls off and dumps primers on the floor which I suppose it could. You just need to make sure it is not loose every so often, not a big deal to me. You do need to be mindful also to keep it tilted forward so the spent primers don't fall out. EZ things to do and EZ tool to use. I would recommend it.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Don't use too tight

De-primer works very well. I used it on some 6.5 Creedmoor cases while watching TV, Initially, I had the mid sized case holder set a little tight, and had to use a metal fingernail file to extract the brass. I loosened it a few turns, and was easily able to remove cases by hand.Vollständige Rezension lesen

FA hand deprimer tool

All around pretty good product. Does what it says it does. Easy to use, easy on the hands. The spent primers can spill out if you point the tool upwards while using. Keep it a little less than level or pointing slightly down during use.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Well worth the money

All metal construction except for the collets (soft plastic). I have run .223, 7x57, 44mag, 45acp, 357, 270, 30-06, .30 carbine, 9x19, 9x18, and 40s&w in the short time that I have had it all without issue.
Only problem is primers will to fall out of trap unless you remember to keep it pointed down. Needs some sort of baffle.
Overall 4 out of 5 stars for ease of operation and versatility. Fix the primer loss and easy 5 stars
