I really love River Phoenix. For me, he's still the greatest. It's the whole reason I bought this dvd. I like Flea too. He's really crazy. This is a very in depth look at guitar playing. Flea and River discuss the many styles and techniques of jamming on some strings!:D Like I said I bought it solely because I read about it, and realized River Phoenix was in it. Comes with a little song book, to teach you cords. But, I don't play guitar. I just love to watch Flea. He's so comical. River doesn't play guitar on the dvd. He just hosts it. For me he will always be my favorite guitar player. RUFF! But seriously, great dvd. If your wanting to learn new techniques, or just starting out. The Greatest Inspiration of Bass Guitar

If you are going for that groovy, funky slaps, you would definitely love this DVD. The jams in the DVD are from Mother's Milk era so many funk slaps are included with Flea's explanation of his own slapping technique. Also there are some nice mellow tunes. But this DVD is not just all about jamming. I really enjoyed his interview about music, how you should dedicate yourself, and how everyone should learn to appreciate music. GREAT DVD! This DVD is a great purchase for anyone who loves the Red Hot Chili Peppers! (especially Flea). I purchased it for my brother and he really really really loves it. Flea bass dvd
