It's a tool to perform a specific function. It performs that function. It is used to program the options in my remote starter. The alternative is to use the remote to scroll through and choose the options rather blindly. You also have to make your selection within a few seconds if you're just using the remote. Its comparable to other mid to high end brands
They expect you to have it installed by a dealer so the information is there but its not step by step. Most of the information can be found on the web and if you know your way around a multi meter its not to bad. 30 years as Boeing electronics maintenance technician doesn't hurt either. A great buy for anyone with a Firstech Remote Starter
plugged it in to my remote starter and it worked perfectly. I was done in 2 minutes and had my remote programmed excatly like I wanted to. This is an awesome product.

The easiest and quickest way to program options and special options menus on Firstech Compustar alarm/remote start modules. For all of the installers out there, this is a "must have" tool.

Great for DIY
Great if you have a Compustar alarm system and want to adjust your own settings. Just a heads up though, it doesn’t come with extension cable you need to connect it to your systems antena.
