Hot! Hot! Hot! First Book Is Important .

I have owned this entire Trilogy 3 times. No longer loaning my books. I never get them back😢. First book is an absolute page turner. Interesting story line . Not for children. Excellent Adult Read & All 3 Must be Read to understand why book one happened. Book one can be a stand alone book, but read entire story🥰of twists and turns. Excitement and lust denial and obsession. Don't waste your money! One book condensed from 3 would have been better.

I labored through the first book Fifty Shades of Grey. It got very old with Ana saying she can't believe she's with or doing something with or to Christian Grey on nearly every page for the first half of the book. The story started out interesting, but soon got very repetitive. I am halfway through Fifty Shade Darker, the second book, and it is even worse. Talk about angst. Ana is going over everything several times trying to figure Christian out. The sex scenes are way too many and not very exciting. I am detemined to finish the series, but have no desire to continue since it is just the same old and not very good writing at all. I will pick it up and read a bit and put it down saying to myself, get on with it! Instead of 3 books at about 530 pages each she could have condensed all into one book of the same 530 pages and would have held my interest a little better. But publishing is out to make the big bucks and we as consumers are left short changed and dissapointed. More later when I finally finish the series, if I can make myself do it.

I have almost finished the second book and am not going to labor over the third. James needs a thesaurus for the words Jeez, Oh My, delicious, oh crap, holy cow and so many other phrases that are stupid and overused. I forced myself through the second book and will not put myself through the torture of the third. I am off to read a real book by a real author and not waste my time on this nonsense. Watch for more reviews.

Fifty shades of garbage: A guide of misogyny

This book was given to me as a gag (no pun intended) birthday gift.
To begin with, the writing is bad beyond words and the nineteenth century dialogue of these two present-day, American, main characters is odd and almost laughable. The story is slow moving and has virtually no plot or character development. Worst of all, the sexual relationship between the two characters is grotesquely debasing and misogynistic.
The story reads like a ripped off version of Dracula set in modern times. Like the book Dracula, Fifty Shades of Grey is retold in first person by the main character. The main character, Anastasia, a young, naive college student, is sent by her roommate to interview this highly successful and powerful businessman, Mr Grey, whose enormous, glass windowed, office building is somewhat like a castle. Within the office building is a harem of beautiful blonde secretaries who leap at Grey's whim. Grey is a ridiculously good looking, enigmatic guy who supposedly possesses undeniable sex appeal. HA!
Anastasia is pathetically insecure and has NO sexual experience, not even with herself. She is held emotionally and physically captive by Grey's so called charm(?) and sexual prowess. Sounds like Dracula? Um, YES.
The story reaches an all time low when Anastasia's sexual relationship with Grey degrades into mental and physical assault.
The over-riding themes in this story are misogynistic and dangerous. This book pretty much tells women they have a biological desire to be controlled and abused. It's astounding to me that sexual violence and exploitation would be passed off as fantasy or erotica.

Much more than meets the Eye

This book was phenomenal. I see a lot of bad reviews for the book because the sex scene and the overuse of some words, but the book is much deeper than that. Yes, there are sex scenes at every chapter (x3) however, when you get down to it, you can feel the attraction that Christian and Ana have for one another, an attraction that seems like could never work. This book is a story of a man and a women who are clearly two very different people who want it so bad to work between them. Christian can help Ana in many ways she never imagined, and Ana can help Christian get over or move forward from the dark place in which he lies. The ending will MAKE you want to get the other books... Therefore, think beyond the sexual scenes and the overuse of "inner goddess". There is much more to this book than that. Excellent Well Written Novel

I bought this book because it is a trilogy and I had books 2 & 3, but needed the 1st book! Fifty Shades of Grey is an excellent, well written book. The book is very easy to read and definitely keeps your interest. Once I had finished the 1st book I couldn't wait to begin on the 2nd. I must caution you though that this book is XXX rated and uses very explicit language, so if that bothers you this might not be the book for you. The 2nd book picks up well where the 1st book leaves off, so I would urge you to buy all 3 if possible.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

UNBELIEVABLE_Christian Grey and Anna Steele leave you wanting more

I'm not really into unconventional sex and S&M, etc but I am into romance and I was hearing such great reviews about this book so I broke down and purchased it. I am so glad I did, you just want to continue reading and reading and you can't put the book down. Once understand Christian Grey's dark side and why he is the way he is you are more drawn to the book and you hope and want Ms. Steele to actually "catch him" and make him want a "more" conventional relationship. The plot just continues to thicken with it's twists and turns and "firsts"...I can't wait to read the next book Fifty Shades of Dark to see what's in store for Christian and Ana, if ANYTHING at all!Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Romance novel on steroids.

This is a summer must read. It is a romance novel on steroids. I'm on my second time through this series. The first time I read I wasn't sure I wanted to delve into the whole dom/sub genre. But after reading it I'm glad I stuck with it because the man/women relationship was evolving into so much more. I had to download the next 2 right after I read the first. It definitely was a HOT and JUICY read. It helped rev up the hormones in this 50 year body. Husband was not complaining.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Amazing and distributive.....

I purchased this book due to the rave reviews from a tv program, and I had purchased all three volumes. I'm intrigued by the book and was very amazed at the wonderful distributive and visual things that had happened in the book. Its not for the people who have fears of sex or think that sex is dirty. So please keep this in mind that this book is EROTICA, in the modern sense of the wording. Love the book and would recommend this to any of my friends.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Truly a good read and the trilogy enhanced the experience

I purchased and read the books first. The books where written so well that I got a true glance at the characters in the story. I was hesitant to be disappointed that a movie wouldn’t give me that same outcome. My first viewing of the movie Fifty Shades of grey was on Netflix. I kept watching to see when for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades greed to come out on Netflix. I got impatient so I did a search online. When I found a site that offered the Trilogy I ordered right away . I wasn’t disappointed . I watched it twice in one night. Vollständige Rezension lesen...

An "E" for effort but no "A" for arousing!

I have to admit, curiosity got the best of me which is why I bought this book. However, I was not impressed nor did I get one little hint of a tingle from anything I read. So many people were talking about the eroticism so looking for a cheap thrill, I was suckered in. Without giving too much away, the ending was silly akin to a tantrum. How can you ask for something and when you get it, get mad about it? If my public library doesn't carry the rest of the trilogy, I can live without knowing how the characters end up unless I read about it in a blog. I thought the trilogy would be a great addition to my personal library now I pass the first around and don't care if I get it back.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
