What a great series! The characters are so engaging with the young Morse suitably spare and troubled set against the rough diamond Thursday played perfectly by the charismatic Roger Allam and complimented by the thoughtful spikey Anton Lesser. Morse + Thursday, must watch tv.Dixon of Dock Green it is not.

The prequel to morse, but, a stand alone series in its own right. Very well acted and captures the era perfectly,the changing face of police work. A classic to be watched again at a later date.
