Works fine in 2007 iMac, check ram speed
Apple only officially supports up to 4 GB (2 x 2GB) in the mid-2007 iMac, but 3rd parties have shown that it can support up to 6GB. (2GB + 4GB).
Now, the RAM speed in the mid-2007 iMac is 667MHz, and this RAM is an 800MHz SODIMM. If you put 2 800MHz SODIMMs in this iMac, it won’t boot, as my guess is the memory management doesn’t know what to do with it, so with this being an 800MHz module, if you’re putting this in this model iMac, you’ll need to make sure your other RAM module is a 667MHz module, as then the memory management unit defaults both modules to the 667MHz speed, and boots up fine. Similar Macs may have similar issues with faster RAM speeds, so do your research before buying, obviously. EveryMac does a good job with the actual maximum RAM capacity for all Macs vs way Apple officially supported at time of release. In my case, I have this one 800MHz 4GB module in one slot, and a 667MHz 2GB module in the other, and the Mac boots fine, running both modules at the stock 667MHz speed. Definitely worth the upgrade, though, for an older system that was struggling with 4GB of RAM, the extra RAM definitely made the difference, as this iMac is still very usable today.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
