EICO 950B Bridge Capacitor Tester

No buttons to hold

The think I love the most about this capacitor tester is that you don't have to hold push buttons in to do a leakage test on electrolytic capacitors. Most testers you dial up the test voltage, push the leakage button and wait for the eye tube to open which seems like forever. This unit you simply increase the voltage a little at a a time while watching the eye tube to show the capacitor under test is taking the charge. I have to disclose, I learned this from U-tube videos.
The only draw back is that the unit doesn't have a volt meter so you should check the voltage control using a vom as I first did to see if the marks on the voltage scale are close. I still have more to learn about this unit.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I bought the Eico 950B to play with. I am a Electronic Tech. It seems to be one of the most popular units out there. I replaced 3 capacitors (2 didn't

look good and one was wrong value). I added a line fuse and replaced the line cord with a polarized one. The unit worked when I got it and the changes I made were for safety reasons. It is fun to work with since it 50 years old.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Great tool, if you fix it first.

This is a great tool if you work on Vintage tube amps..........but due to age, you'll have to restore it first. Capacitors and out of tolerance resistors need replaced.

good shop test equipment almost a must. but buy a good condition unit.

resold condition was poor but fixable and usable.

after replacing all the caps,tubes checking all resistors. it allows you to test csps close to there working voltages

Elco Capacitor checker

Elco put out a good product and still repairable it all metal good point to point wiring. and you can buy the repair kit here on E bay for a reasonable price. And being a electronic technician I have no problem rewiring it. Vollständige Rezension lesen

Nice Test Equipment for Audio work.

Unit works as stated in manual for use.Checked all the caps and resistors and replaced where needed. When complete, fired unit up and worked great.

overall it work well. Price was to high for it, but it had the thing I needed on it.

This unit was working when I received it.
I have recapped and redone some wiring and retubed the unit.
All working wonderfully.
