Excellent split charge kit, fitted to boat
Very easy to make up cables and install took about 2 hours. I chose this over ready made cable version so that I can cut cable to desired length. Literally everything is included in the kit. I fitted this to my boat to charge the domestic batteries that power the fridge etc, and I added a switch to ground (-ve) wire to switch on only when engines are running, as I have a 3 channel mains charger when connected to shore power.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Excellent instructions
I found fitting this kit to my Renault Master very straight forward. Because my vans battery is under the cab floor and because I found a good earth for the leisure battery in the van, I didn't need to run any cables outside the van at all.
The instructions provided are very thorough and easy to follow. The only part I had problems with was attaching the terminals to the cables. I tried using a big pair of mole grips initially to squash the terminals onto the leads. This didn't really work that well. The terminals didn't feel that secure, so I invested in a Draper Heavy Duty Crimper for £19. That did the job very well and everything went smoothly from then on.
Testing completed I took the van for a run, but couldn't see the red light coming on. I stopped and checked it and found it was illuminating, but is quite feint in daylight.
I'm really pleased with it and the installation was comparatively straight forward and the end result is as neat as possible, without any unsightly cables hanging around.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Split Charge kit
Fitted this split charge kit recently and i have to say it was a pleasure to do so.
The kit comprises of quality components which work as they should first time,
ie sticky pads that actually stick, terminals that are easy to solder on and are robust , decent cable ties, screws that fit the things they are there to hold on and a sharp drill bit that's the right size for the screws.
Quality cable and a quality relay.

I purchased the kit for our LDV Maxus camper van. It took a while to fit because I've never fitted one before but the result is a professional looking job that works well. I had a technical query, that wasn't covered by the otherwise excellent and straightforward instructions, and it was answered in detail by Samuel. The kit includes everything you need as long as you measure up correctly! I misjudged and needed an extra metre of cable and fittings which were swiftly supplied by Splitcharge. Fitting very easy would be better if both cables were of a similar length could be difficult to obtain earth point on some vehicles depending where batteries are fitted

Looked at buying all the bits individually but this kit has it all and although there is only 3 wires to connect the instructions are clear and all parts needed are there.

Buy cheap, Buy twice. Bought as replacement for cheaper model
Works as expected, bought this to replace a cheaper brand that failed after 3 years. Time will see how well this lasts. But if most people are right thi will just keep on going

Just Works!
This split charger is a superb item, is compact, easy to fit and just works. I have it installed in a camper van and unlike the previous charger the auxiliary leisure battery has not gone flat since.
