Sadly not strong enough
The metal part looks good but the strap broke as soon as I applied any significant torque to the item and the oil filter remained unmoved despite the tool having dented it. I then did a bit more research and bought a 1/2" drive cap type wrench (like an overgrown socket with 14 facets) sized specifically for my filter - 74 mm. This worked fine. The torque required to start the filter moving made it obvious the strap has been nowhere strong enough for that particular job. And yes, I had hand tightened it when originally installed but its rubber gasket had really formed a strong grip over the year it was in place. That can't be too unusual a situation. It’s probably ok on light applications
I used this tool on an assembly that was very tight and the strap sadly tore in half on the first try. I had to add some rubber between the strap and the job to get the smooth strap to grip the job as it kept sliding round the whole time.
Granted I probably did use too might torque pressure for what the tool is rated for but considering it has a 1/2” drive end on it, I expected it to hold up a little better than it did.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Great Piece of Kit
Got my oil filter off my Mk4 Golf (in a tight space) with a lot of force as it hadnt been changed in 11 years ! (second hand cars ) But got it off without snapping the strap. But when i put new one one it did dent it slightly. So be careful. But this is more then likely my own fault though for not being fully aware of doing it a better way.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Decent filter wrench for the money
It's a decent filter wrench for the money. Bought it for the annual oil change on an 18hp volvo diesel boat engine. The filters awkward to get at but with a long extension on the ratchet it gets to it well and is easy to adjust. I'm very happy with it.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Not what I expected quite a wee bit small then I thought it would be but still very happy with it good for tight car filters will not do for hgv's thow
