Down Periscope (DVD, 2004)

Ok Plot... Flawed Execution

This is Kelsey's first of at least two feature films (the other being "The Real Howard Spitz," on VHS or PAL format DVD import).
A clever naval officer executes a naval war game in his typical unorthodox way. Some of the ideas he demonstrates does (at least to this writer) indicate that there is at least some familiarity with watercraft manuvering.
Not a great comedy film but not overly silly either. It almost reminds me of a variation of the movie theme of "Operation Petticoat" without the Class or the serious minded captain.
There is profanity. Almost immediately the "F" word is used. Repeated references to a certain part of the main male character's anatomy being tattooed is necessary because ?
Handled differently this could have really helped Kelsey's potential movie career. Given a better vehicle he could have shined instead of bombed at the box office.Vollständige Rezension lesen

This is a movie I turn to when I need a good laugh. It pokes fun at our "isms" and lets us laugh at ourselves and not take ourselves so seriously. Great movie. Great actors. Great entertainment !!!!

If you want to laugh, and get caught up in a feeling of patriotism, this movie will do it. Also restores the great American sprit of - "We Can Do It".

The funniest movie

We've always loved this movie. This was an affordable cd. Our vhs tape self-destructed. I wish this movie was easier to find. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

I love this movie. I watched 2 times after I got it. Actually this is my 2nd one. I wore out the 1st one lol. It's a great movie.
