Easy to install, fair price, accessible software.
I bought this as a stand alone decoder programmer, as many dcc-controls (including mine) are simply unable to program newer sound-decoders. I like the fact that PR4 is compatible with windows 10 / 11 and an easy install. I look forward to use it to program digitrax sound files, but for now it is the perfect bridge to use my jmri decoderpro freeware.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Save Your Sanity with a Better Model Railroading Tool
This unit is an interface that connects a computer to DCC modules in model trains. The modules provide a number of control and sound features. The functions are controlled by entering numeric values into memory locations. There are a large number of possible variations. You can program the functions one at a time using the control unit for most systems but it is clumsy, time consuming and it is easy to make a mistake. You can connect this module to your computer and the DCC module. There is a freeware program called JNRI that "reads" the value of each storage location and displays them in an organized table. You can change the values one at a time or store a profile containing a number of CV values that you can load with one command. Either method is much easier than using the control system. It is certainly worth the modest price. It seems to be well built and includes safety features that prevent damage if you make a mistake. Highly recommended.Vollständige Rezension lesen

PR3 Xjtra best for programming
I have used other digitrax products for programming decoders of all brands. This is the best programmer by far for any DCC decoders. With the PR3 and power supply hooked to service or programming track, it has programmed every decoder I have tried it with. It can read all the CV's and generate a list, also multiple CV's can be programmed at one time. If you do a lot of programming you really need the PR3 Xtra. Reliable and robust intrface between computer and DCC layout
It does what it design to do with no fuss. A product is excellent when you connect it and it works right out the box.

Great for Digitrax sound decoders.
I only use it for programming decoders. But it does that well. I have uploaded sound file without problems to Digitrax sound decoders.
