Optimal choice non-IT controller for ZFS
If you're looking to upgrade your old rig for modern solutions, the very first step is moving from hardware to software RAID (zfs or btrfs). This controller is special, since if has a unique passthrough mode among this generation's controllers, which allows to pass the drives directly to OS. It also removes the risk of single point of system's failure, which is controller failure. Never had problems with it. Dell H310 an amazing little card that works, it just works!
this helped me out big time, I just plug and play it on my R720XD and just like that I can see all my drives without having to configure the RAID controller. Thank you! Highly recommended A+++++

arrived quickly and works great!
shut the server down, removed the old card, replaced it with the new card and like magic my raid car is now in IT mode!
