And weirdly enjoyable experience.

So this is essentially a Wii demake of the first Dead Rising for Xbox 360. The story is the exact same but it uses the same engine Capcom used for Resident Evil 4 so the gameplay ends up feeling like a combination of DR1 and RE4. It is a combination that I didn't expect to be anywhere near as compelling as it is. I love both DR1 and RE4. They are two of my all time favorites so Chop Till You Drop scratches an itch I didn't even realize was there.
Keep in mind, there are drastic changes to the way the game plays on Wii. There are far fewer interactable objects/weapons and there is much more emphasis on guns as opposed to melee weapons. The time limit is gone and saving survivors is done through a mission menu where you are ranked on your preformance each time.
It is different and weird and a bit clunky at times but if you love Capcom's zombie games, and you are looking to grow your Wii collection, you really can't go wrong here. Grab it while its still ten bucks for a nice copy.

Fun time killer on the Wii

After playing Resident Evil 4 into the ground I was looking for something with a similar game play and feel. I find it incredibly hard to believe that a game like RE4 came out in 2006 and there has not been a game that even comes close in comparison yet. So I picked up Dead Rising. It is a fun game, though no where near as expansive and creative as RE4. The shopping mall setting is fun, but there are a lot of repetitive tasks or areas that you could do without. The ability to pick up objects around the mall is great, but I wish it was a little more random. I am still looking for a game that allows more than one player to play the game at the same time in this style shooter for the Wii. I mean, 007 came out for the Nintendo 64 and I bought the system just for that game. You cannot tell me that a game developer has not been able to create a similar game for the Wii with multiplayer onscreen gaming. Not everyone wants to play against people who are in another room, let alone another location.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Dead Rising Comes to the Wii.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is like a film adaptation of a classic book. It resembles the original in the most important ways, but a few drastic changes have made it something of its own. Fans of the Xbox 360 original may balk at the changes and downgraded visuals, but those unfamiliar with Dead Rising will find a pleasingly action-packed game here. The free-roaming zombie-slaying of Dead Rising is unique on the Wii, and even though Chop Till You Drop has its fare shair of flaws, it's a welcome addition to the console's increasingly mature library. In addition to multiple save slots, the Wii version of Dead Rising comes packed with new zombie enemies that are slowly introduced throughout your time in the mall. New foes, including giant stun-gun wielding zombies and deadly accurate gun-toting zombies, spice up the action and keep you on your toes. Unfortunately, the most common of the additions--zombie poodles and grenade-dropping parrots--could be in the running for the most annoying enemies in game history.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Pass On This Title

The Wii has some great games and hidden gems. This one not so much. The graphics aren’t good at all my wii has an hdmi converter so everything looks even worse. Mainly because all the bad textures are more visible. But the gameplay is repetitive, the cutscenes terrible, the game looks like its from 2001 ps2 era. Get the xbox version if you want the better experience. Its not a bad game, just on the wii.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Deadly fun :)

This game is a lot of fun for what it is. I have played the 360 version and found it quite frustrating. A lot of the issues have been corrected with the Wii version. The save system has been revamped and is there when you need it. Because this game uses the same engine as Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, players of that game will find themselves at home with the aiming and shooting mechanic. Forget dual analog sticks...Wii remote control of shooting is unparalleled. The gameplay is a blast, the tone of the game is perfectly campy, mixing brutal violence with humorous absurdity. For a bargain price, totally worth it.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

The Suffering 1 and two is how the controls should have being

This game is cool and I wish they would have put the weapons in first person mode, I hate the way you have to aim the shotgun like your left handed. Running around and saving the day and all the cinematics and the endless depth in this game are worth buying it alone. At first I thought I was playing the same original one on x-box 360, I had to eject and look at the disc. There was a game called the suffering for the x-box which rivaled if not better then resident evil. In the game you can switch from first person to third person throughout the game at any time, and the monsters rivaled doom 3. This game is playable but needs that weapong/angle thing reworked for sure.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Yeah, yeah ,yeah..

Playing this game on the wii is addicting - Mission after mission. Unlike dead rising on the xbox 360 you can reload and zombies leave behind ammo and cash money when you blow their guts off. Who cares if you can't use the camera - you won't be able to kill zombies with a single flash, so whats the use? There are annoying zombie animals like the parrots and dogs who just keep responding which is not as easy as the legged zombies who just simply walk - the parrots fly & the dogs are just fast in its ways. Dead rising "CTYD" is a very fun and addicting game for me because everything is smooth - Otis may be annoying but he gives you money and prizes for whatever mission you have successfully completed saving survivors, and whatever he wishes for you to do. The game is much fun, but too easy - who cares its a great game for any zombie fan folk out there like me who just like to slaughter those retarded zombies. If you played it on the xbox 360 there are slight differences such as you have to press the minus button to use a item and pauses the screen and don't see Frank use it to regain health like drinking or eating. - Tt just magically restores... blah blah blah. Just buy the game for your wii if you don't have an xbox 360 you would'nt know and its still simply fun. - (Xbox 360 and Wii owner)Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Mediocre zombie killing if u don't mind a almost incriminating stick to this storyline with painstaking deadends

The story is too line based strict it doesn't give as much free roam as it should also the amount of items are slim compare to what was implied by the picture of the game

A Horrible knock Off...

Did you enjoy the first dead rising?? Well if you did stay away from this game!!

The Wii is back, and yes it's ruined yet another great multiplatform game!!! This is exactly the same game that you would be playing on your 360 only... You have to wave your arm around more than a lost guy in New York trying to get a cab just to kill a single zombie!! Also you never see more than 10-15 zombies on screen because that's all the processing power nintendo's wimpy console can handle at a time!!! Over all it's a horrible game on the Wii, although Dead Rising on the Xbox 360 is an incredible game!!
Don't waste your money, chances are if you have a Wii your 4 year old won't be slaying any zombies anytime soon anyway!!

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop (from enjoyment)

This game is fun for the zombie extermination lover in us all. the controls are easy to follow and movent is smooth. It would have been nice if you could interface with more things, but at least it provides what you need.

Have fun creatively killing the undead.
