Tense, Realistic and Brilliant U-Boat Thriller

Wonderful and realistic film that provides insight into the terrors of being a submariner during WW2. It provides a rare insight into the German perspective and reminds us that even though Germany was our enemy at the time, in the main they were of course human beings just like ourselves. Watching this film is a nerve racking experience. The acting and direction are brilliant. This version is the Director's cut and can be viewed both as the original German language version or you can watch it dubbed into English. I strongly recommend watching the German version with English subtitles switched on (unless of course you speak German). One of the finest war movies

This would be one of my top 10 movies. I was happy to upgrade from the DVD to the Blu-Ray version.
