Humor and precision target shooting in an anime

Thee are plenty of Girls With Big Guns titles in anime, but this is the only one that's a realism based slice of life story about high school sports. Unlike Girls und Panzer, this is a sport that high school students participate in today.
It's based on a four panel gag comic, so the first few episodes are spotty and uneven, but once the writers found their rhythm the series picks up.
The artists did their research. The rifles are accurate representations of Anschutz laser-power rifles. They managed to show the experience of target shooting quite well. The heft of the rifle and posture of the shooter shows through. They even reproduced the look of the bullseye through the diopter sights.
This is not a show for people who judge the quality of a story by how big the explosions are, but if you like quiet stories about real people in humorous situations, then Rifle is Beautiful is worth trying.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
