Tough radio for use on site, plenty of volume and excellent reception on both DAB and FM ranges. Runs for hours on a battery (I have 18v 5AH ones), and the phone charging capability and caddy are really useful.

Never, ever believe the hype
So, wanting a radio for use in my home workshop, where there is often much dust, decided a site radio should fit the bill.....
Compact and sturdy it is, the reviews claiming that the sound quality is good are, imho, totally untrue.
Lots of mid range, no decent top end and, more importantly, no bass. One assumes that these two ends of the frequency spectrum are lost 'on site'....because despite its size and overall volume this radio fails to deliver. I have heard better sound from cheaper and smaller units from other manufacturers. Yes, it has a little side partition for stashing your mp3 player in, yes, it has a usb connection for charging if said mp3, or phone but neither make this a good radio. At all.
I hate this radio, after a mere 24 hrs ownership. It will be sold and something much more suited bought instead.

Compact & Good Quality as always from Dewalt
Can use either battery or mains - So can charge flat batteries & still be working when plugged in, with the bonus of a phone charger as well :-)

A bit more compact than dewalt previous radios. Has a good tone and volume. Although it is easy to tune. The instructions are poor. So still haven't worked out how to set the presets.

Handy to use existing XR batts and compact
Very good BUT nowhere to store mains plug it just dangles once cord wrapped round hangar. Have to use some wire to keep it off floor. Very annoying. You would think de Walt would have designed it better. Note this does not charge XR batts just a mobile phone via lead.

absolutely an excellent piece of kit,the sound is terrific and I work outdoors,simple to set up and it looks good as well, great features, buy it.
