Compustar 4900s 2-way Remote Start System

DIYer install, it was simple!

I am super pleased and happy with this system. I have installed it on a 94 Mazda b4000 four wheel drive 5 speed manual.granted this particular system is not designed for a manual transmission but it's really simple to rig up a relay that only allows your engine to start if your shifter is in neutral.
It really does go 3000 feet. I was worried it might not be enough footage but seeing as it had a 2-way remote I was confident I would at least know whether or not the remote signal reached my vehicle.

Overall I'm extremely pleased and the wiring harnesses, in my particular kit there was only two.
when I'm at work I can start my vehicle from inside of my semi of which is a 7 minute walk to my vehicle, with abstractions.
I've never had a 2-way remote before and I find the compu start remote to be of good quality plastic and doesn't feel like you bought a $25 system. The remote will chime when it reaches your vehicle with signal.

Fantastic remote start system!

For under $100, I dont think you could by a better remote start system. This unit is very high quality. I have installed many remote start/keyless entry systems in the past and the quality on this one is some of the best I have seen. I would say comparable to viper, but a lot less complicated. The install instructions are clear and well written. My only problem with this unit is that the customizable programming options are not very easy to adjust, but that is probably because there is separate programming unit that can be purchased for $200 to make it easier. Its doable without, but quite a pain. Luckily there wasn't many options I needed to change. The remotes are very high quality and have the perfect amount of stiffness to the buttons so they won't accidentally get pressed in my pocket. I purchased this because I wanted a 2 way system, but I've had the LCD fobs in the past and they just eat batteries, this one simply beeps 3 times and the lights on the remote blink about every 5 seconds while the car is running. I just want to know if it's running and this does the trick. The best part about this is the range the remotes work from. It is advertised at 3000ft, and I can't tell you the exact range, but that is probably accurate. I work at a large big box retailer and I have to park in the furthest parking spots from the store, and I can remote start my car from inside the building at the very back of the store. I couldn't ask for better range honestly. I was just hoping I could start my car from the inside of the building, and this by far exceeds my expectations. cannot install yourself

I have installed several different units in vehicles over the years and had them work very well but you cannot install this yourself after purchasing it I found you had to have it installed at a representative place because it has to be programmed on a computer at the cost of $150 dollars extra after installation it does work nice only had it a few daysVollständige Rezension lesen

Range is Amazing

Installed in a 2016 Toyota Avalon with push button ignition I can start the car from inside Walmart range is great a awesome unit feels sturdy well built remote controls

Amazing value and great performance.

The programming instructions could be a bit better. CompuStar has GREAT phone support, so call them for a bit of help if the programming doesn’t make sense. Note: you have to use the 1-way remote instructions for the programming of this, as the 2-way instructions are actually for the LCD screen remote, which is misleading in the instructions. Installation is easy but programIng the option is not designed for non installer dealer because it requires to flash the firmware or use OP500 to change the option.
Trunk release will not work on default option .
