This lens is where you really begin to stretch your legs with telephoto, the ability to get sharp photos from across a room is why for event photographers this lens is an ace up their sleeve. The fast aperture of f/2 means that this lens also allows you get the shutter speed needed to freeze the action of indoor sports from court side. Not to mention that at this focal length you can get some great depth of field compression when taking portraits. Must have lens even in 2023!

This is an awesome lens to have even in 2023. Images are sharp and gives a really nice subject separation and 3D pop! AF is blazingly fast and accurate. Sigma 135mm f/1.8 is the superior lens to this but it's more costly and a lot heavy. Sigma version is a tiny bit slower to focus. This Canon lens works beautifully with the Canon 2x iii extender after stopping it down to f/5.6. That'll give you 270mm on full frame, quite sharp too. Just wish this had weather sealing. Sharpest Lens ever, Best blur background, Best in Low Light

This is the best lens;

1) Most Sharpest Lens
2) Best bookeh (blur background)
3) Best in low light
4) Best for portraits (but have to maintain distance / challange)
5) Best headshot
6) Best Value

Now I bought Canon EF 85mm 1.2L. I love this lens. I use 135mm F2L prob over a year. I am not technical I just compare results for each shot. If you are wedding photographer, if you can manage distance thing then 135mm F2L is the best. For me I dont have that much patience, in tight environment its hard to manage so I decided to try out 85mm F2L. I am happy with my decision. Although 85mm is almost more than double price. But if you are not in wedding and not in indoor pictures then go for 135mm F2L.

135mm F2L is super sharp lens. It has best bookeh. I wish, if there is 135mm F2L mark2 there. But I would say EF 85mm F1.2L is way better than 135mm F2L in all aspects. 85mm small as compare to 135mm, super sharp, good bookeh not good as 135mm though. And distance challenge is over in 85mm.

Whether you buy 135mm F2L or 85mm F1.2L, both lens are quality lens and you won't be disappointed with anyone. Vollständige Rezension lesen...

The best Canon lens I have used.

This is by far the best lens I've used with my 5D Mark II. No wonder it's called the king of all L lenses. I can comfortably shoot wide open at f/2.0 and still get shocking sharp images. Step down to 3.5 or 4.0, then we are talking about forensic details. In fact, the picture come out so sharp, I often need to use bump up the skin smoothing in Lightroom during post processing. It's perhaps the best lens from canon to capture the beauty of human eyes too.

It's well known for indoor sports and portraits. I have the 24-70 L, 70-200 f/4L IS, and 50mm f/14. But the 135mm L stays on my camera most of the time. It's just the sharpness, but also accurate color rendering plus just mesmerizing color saturation. Yes, it's an odd focal length, but I like it so much, I do the zooming with my legs. The perfect lens

I bought this lens because I had heard great things about it's ability to produce sharp images with beautiful bokeh. Now that I am an owner all that was said is true. This is now my go to lens for sports and events. Coupled with a 2.0 aperture makes this a perfect lens for low light situations and it does really well with finding its target quickly and silently. I would definitely recommend this lens to any photographer who wants solid performance, quality and sharp images in a creative style and look to purchase this lens... One of the Best in this focal length, great features. Should have bought sooner.

Portraits,Macro.Scenics,Wildlife, This lens does it all.Very sharp and with its F-2aperature, really works well in different situations. Really good lens hood, keeps out flair reflections, etc. Great quality build .as are all the canon lens. One of my go lens in this focal range, works well with both 1.4 and 2x converters.

Favorite Lens

Canon's 135mm F/2 L USM is my overall favorite lens for the following reasons: great for street photography capturing candid moments of passersby, sharp portrait lens with beautiful bokeh, quick focusing even in low light, this lens provides me freedom to photograph from a distance and capture those intimate moments between husband and wife, children playing, or animals. I love the color contrast and for me, rarely have a problem to correct in post production. A lens that truly stands out from the crowd

If you are looking for a lens that can do magic you've found it. The canon EF 135mm f2 L glass is the best lens I've used in all aspects from image sharpness to colours and contrast it produces. The images made with this marvelous piece of equipment are truly special. My advise is to look around some of the photography web sites or Google for sample images so you can get a feel of what people are talking about when they say how special this lens is.

In short:
*Extremely sharp even wide open (and almost dangerous around f4)
*Light weight (compared to other L glass)
*Excellent colours and contrast in images (you won't need PS or other software as much, trust me!)
*Great value for money (nothing comes even close to this lens as far as value is concerned, arguably some of the best glass out there and for a steal!)

One thing you might find a bit odd is the focal length which does require a bit of getting used to but it is far from a deal breaker!

It's a great lens.

I simply love this lens. I use it for photographing tennis events. On a crop body(7D), this is a great focal length to be just off the court. It's incredibly fast to focus. I have taken shot after shot of advanced players swinging at full speed, 30-40 yards away and I can count the hairs on their neck in the photo. Amazingly sharp pictures. I wish I could use this lens for all my photos.

My Favorite Lens

I love this lens! It's focal length and wide aperture make it easy to blur out backgrounds whether you are taking portraits of of people or pets.
