Excellent portrayal 60s crime genre

Very dark and of the early 60s crime and dismal genre.
The entertainment factor is hampered by fear of poking one’s toe in the murk of the whole darkness/Catholicism Graham Greene almost Thomas Hardy dragging down of the spirit.
The one character, Rose is very Pollyanna but the end of the film leaves you wondering if it was denial or mental inability to be rational.
Helen Mirren is her usual Agrade acting self. Several other underworld characters with duality of purpose provide interest.

A good look at the seedier side of life

This was quite a good series that I picked up by chance. I was amazed that it didn't receive some acclaim in Australia but then it wasn't a "reality" show but a reality check. Highly recommended for a good drama.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
