Favorite childrens' book, rhythmic. Gr8 4 kids & grands

To me this is a marvelously moving short, short story. Easy to get into the beat. Of course the monkeys capture the attention of the little guys...the illustrations are wonderful. And the rhyming rhythm is captivating to no small degree. I can read this over and over to the kids and have just as much fun as they have. Thank you Al Perkins! Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb Book

It is an excellent book to read to children. I am a preschool teacher and I find it a very good book for teaching children rhythm and rhyme with silly monkeys drumming on drums. Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb by Al Perkins (1969)

I had to buy 2 of these books. My 29 and 31 year old daughters begged for it as I use to read a couple of books to them and neighbor during quiet time and each night. We had such fun in not only reading it dramatically but learned to count and enjoy the funny monkeys. Enjoyable read

As soon as I begin to read the title of this book, my toddler smiles. It's impossible for me to read this to him without lowering my voice to sound like a tom-tom. You can hear the drum beats made by the monkees when reading this book, giving small children a great feeling for the sounds of words. Fun to read outloud with a child you love

The book is written in a style that has a rhythm that makes it a favorite for young children. My kids loved it and had it memorized at a really young age. I bought the 1969 edition for grandsons. If you have a toddler, this is a book they will love.

I grew up loving this book and now my son is too. Great rhythm in reading makes it fun for daddy as well. This is one of those classic books you just can't help but love.
