Bones, Season 1

The series is great, very entertaining, etc.

The only problem is having the discs two-sided in Season 1. The rest of the series is one disc per four/five episodes. This particular set is a used one, but working well. It was purchased to replace two discs from a NEW set which did not work at all. There are benefits from new dvds and and benefits from used ones, i.e., the used ones are pretty well guaranteed to operate properly, as someone ran them through their machine at least one time, but I prefer new to used. Therein is the rub.

The series is worth going through this trouble to be able to enjoy all of the episodes, and there are quite a few of them.

Bones- Season One

On one of the weekends that I had house-sat for my best friend, I stumbled upon one of TNT's infamous marathon blocks of their popular shows... I unknowingly passed three hours of my time watching Bones and became annoyed that the marathon wasn't going to continue, until the next scheduled time of course, haha. I got so sucked in, that I immediately ordered the first season on DVD and finished it within the week that it had arrived in the mail. I admit that I am late getting into the show but I absolutely love it! Booth is ever so charming and Bones cracks me up every time she does not understand a pop-culture reference by bluntly stating, "I don't know what that means."

For anyone who has enjoyed programs like Law and Order, CSI or the X-Files, but who would like a little less grime and more humor, Bones is a great choice.

Fine for the mind!

Bones series season 1 is not just great entertainment. It also stimulates the viewer's brain into learning more. Only problem is it's too easy to marathon watch and my house doesn't get clean...

BONES SEASON 1 DVD

Absolutely LOVED this DVD series. I saw an episode and really liked it. Went on ebay to get season one, it was effortless and the DVDs were perfect, the description on the case was well presented as well as the cover. The series explained allot of the progression of the characters & really left you wanting more after each episode. Excellent, writing and acting, with serious topics, with a comical twist. Absolutely, loved this series, with both content and quality.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Great Show!

I have wanted to buy Bones dvd's for the last year, and now that the series is just ended after 12 years, I have started to do just that. I love the romantic interaction between Dr. Brennan and Seeley Booth. Nice to watch from the beginning as I missed the First Season.

Bones Season 1 Posted by CK-Auctions

Bones is a television that first aired on the FOX Network in 2005. The series is a crime drama about an unlikely pair who work together to solve crime, Booth, an FBI agent who uses his gut and instinct, and Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who uses evidence and science, to solve cases. As such, Booth and Brennan work on cases that involves bodies that are burnt, decomposed, or destroyed beyond recognition. Joining them is Brennan's forensic team from the Jeffersonian Institute. The show is partly based upon the fictional novels written by Dr. Kathy Reichs. As an overall crime drama, Bones gets two thumbs up. It is a fun show that includes drama, mystery, comedy, and action. Not to mention, it has a fairly well-rounded cast and solid storylines.

Headlining the cast are David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel. Boreanaz plays FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth. Booth is a former Army Ranger sniper who relies on his wit to solve cases. He believes it is his intuition and ability to read people that solve cases. Evidence and the scientific process mean almost nothing to him. He works for the FBI in the homicide unit trying to solve as many murder cases as possible to make up for the countless lives he took as a sniper.

Deschanel plays Dr. Temperance Brennan, who Booth affectionately calls Bones. Brennan is a forensic anthropologist who works for the Jeffersonian Institute. Her area of expertise is postmortem identification of bodies that are beyond recognition by conventional means. She is an expert martial artist and marksman. She desires to work cases from both the laboratory and the field. She lost her family when she was fifteen. To date, she is still looking for them. It is this incident that drives her to solve cases.

Overall, Bones is an exciting drama that focuses on homicide cases and dead bodies burnt, decomposed, or destroyed beyond recognition (you might not want to eat while watching this show). The series has a strong cast who works quite well individually and together, as well as solid storylines with only a tad bit too much drama. In the end, Bones makes for a compelling drama that any fan of crime dramas will enjoy.

adorably creepy

OK, so I AM a big fan of Kathy Reichs books, and was intrigued to see what this show would be like. The addition of David Boreanaz also was a big draw, as he is a very charismatic actor(and I adored Angel!) For fans of Ms Reichs books, this is a slightly odd amalgam of Kathy herself and her main character Temperance Brennan, who on the show is also a crime author (like Ms Reichs - a top forensic anthropologist and author.)

The characters are all new, apart from Brennan's ex-husband Pete (although we only got a glimpse of him in the season premiere) plus it is set in Washington DC rather than Canada and Virginia as in the books.

Tempe herself is rather different than the book character. Emily Deschanel is fine, but rather young and headstrong compared to the book Tempe. Even in the one episode, we have seen her rushing into things quite recklessly. I guess they wanted to make her a little more dynamic for TV.

The chemistry between Brennan and Booth (Boreanaz) was pretty good from the start, although they need to handle it properly. Maybe the Mulder and Scully reference is a hint of how they might handle things. However, the crime was a little flimsy. This first episode seemed to focus far more on establishing character and tone than on plot. Probably something that will change with future episodes.

On the whole, Riechs fans can have fun being snooty and complaining about Tempe's drinking and the lack of her cat, but I thought the show had definite possibilities. I know I'm keen to see how things unfold.

Addicted to "Bones"

"Bones" has taken top spot for favorite TV show in my book. I'm a crime show junkie anyway, but the addition of anthropology to the mix adds a whole interesting twist. The characters each have a great role and add a lot to the show in their own ways so you're not just interested in whether Dr. Brennan and Booth will hook up someday. There is a gore factor but it's fairly minimal considering. Can't go wrong here.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
