Good quality phone!

The blackberry storm 9500 is RIM first touch screen phone i believe and when i say touch screen of course i mean a small button that reacts to the glass movement. What your wondering? Let me explain because its one of two major things that make this phone good and not excellent. Most touch screen phones have a fixed glass panel and react on pressure on the glass, or skin touching the screen. Whereas the storm as two functions; one it detects your finger and then secondly you push down on the whole glass screen and there is a small button under which computes where you finger is at the time and then completes the function you wanted. The problem i have with this, is speed in which you can type or simply browse the phone inners. With the button it makes it very hard to type quickly as you have to wait, i grant you, not long, but long enough to make typing a more challenging job than it already is. Also there seems to be a common problem with the backlight, linked the touch panel, that makes the backlight of the phone flickr and become faulty all together. This can become very annoying when its dark and need to see whats on the screen, but the phone refuses to light up. The other bad point is sometimes, and ill empathize the word "sometimes" because it doesn't happen to often, but the phone will sometimes become frozen for long periods which means most the time you have to reboot the phone. not sure why this is but i presume its an overload on the phone's cpu. But there the bad bits... the good parts of this phone are great. The media player is great and easy to use. The camera on the phone is very good for a phone that doesn't boast good camera qualities. Also the internal memory is very big so there is plenty of room for your music, photo's etc. There are also many apps you can have on the phone, including games which makes it a lot easier to personalize this phone. Overall with this phone i find is very good and i would recommend the phone to anyway who wants to get on the RIM/BB bandwagon but be discrete about it. 9/10Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Blackberry 9500 aftermath

The phone I bought blackberry 9500 was impressive when i first bought it, the camera was amazing comparing to my old phone, music is loud and clear with a very nice playing system and background.
<br>However, the touch screen on the blackberry9500 is the worst among ALL the touch screen phones. I have personally compared the touch screen with nokia phones, and new versions of blackberry and american smart phones and androids... blackberry9500 by far has the Worst touch screen. writing a text/email to someone will realistically take 2-3 times as long comparing to a nokia touch screen or old school keypad.
This being said, the touch screen button on blackberry9500 are the biggest in size which is appreciated by the older generation who like technology but finds it hard to read some small text on smartphones.

Blackberry Storm 9500

I like the looks and the functions in it.. one thing I dislike is the glass panel infront of this phone does not fit in and has a gap on all sides. And also the touchscreen is not as smooth as Iphone, as it needs more pressure and not the casual touch with other touchscreen mobiles.

I like the appearance of the phone and the mail features are amazing.Its faster and with internet facilities its simply superb. I wanted to buy one of these mainly due to these features.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Not an elegant ladies phone

I bought this phone because I was looking for a large screen so I wouldn't need to fumble in my bag for my glasses every time I got a text. I also wanted a qwerty key pad and a touch screen.. I thought I would just put my sim into the phone and off I would go----not so! Even with the instruction cd it was not explained that I would have to register it with blackberry just to use the text function.
And ladies, it is not ideal for those of you have long fingernails. I had to cut mine back or when doing a text on the touch screen my nails would overhang and I would get the wrong letters up.
My advice to you would be dont buy this phone unless you have a 16 year old in the house to teach you how to use it and if you dont have short fingernails.

RIM/Blackberry Storm 9500 Mobile Phone

I wanted a touch screen Blackberry as my clumsy big fingers were struggling with the standard key type blackberry, the touch screen is not as sensitive as an iphone unfortunately requiring quite a strong push of the screen to confirm BUT is reliable unlike the iphone which was a real let down for calls and emails however the iphone was far better for going online and apps, the blackberry is not good in this area my conclusion I wish there was a smart phone that combined Apples iphone for apps and online searching with blackberrys excellent reliability for calls and emailVollständige Rezension lesen...

A great storm

this Blackberry storm is the first smart phone I have owned, I have found it very user friendly, the battery life is up to 2 days depend on usage. nice size and bright screen. in all a good phone.

I bought this phone for my personal use, i like its compatibility. Using the blackberry 9500 phone is a dream come true, its superb and wonderful and the phone is very fantastic its functions are second to none.

Very good considering it's age .the rubber grip has gone a little bit sticky .I think isopropyl will clean it up. And will need to change the language

I bought the Blackberry storm 9500 but i was disappointed when i came to know that this phone has not got WiFi feature. This BlackBerry is useless without it Because people purchase blackberry only for internet usage.

the reason why i bought it is because is touch and in having internal memory of 1GB and it will serve me for what i want to do with it ,Blackberry is a unique phone that many people have not discover it uniqueness and i discover that lately and is better to be late than not.
