Beauty and the Beast

I just bought this on dvd on ebay because I loved it so much after seeing it on cable years ago, I just had to own it on dvd. I think this is the very best version of the Beauty and the Beast story ever made. The leading characters, Rebeccca and John, are splendid and very convincing in their roles as well as all the supporting characters. The music is delightful especially my favorite song; "If you see with your Heart". The costumes and scenery are lovely and whimsical. I am in love with this movie and can watch it over and over again. A pure delight. This world would be a better place if like in this movie we could see with our heart. Beauty and the Beast

i liked that it followed the original story with some added interests such as beauty's home life.. i enjoyed the emotions of the beast as he tried to get through to beauty that he was human under his fur.. and i enjoyed the dream scenes where the prince was still trying to make beauty understand that he was the beast..telling her how desperate he was for her to set him free.. i didn't care for the silly dancing and singing of her family, the court yard dancers and the picture coming to life, so i skip them when i watch it now..but i felt everyone did good acting job especially the actors playing the main roles..but i really enjoyed the acting of both parts of the beast he really made the beast have a soul!! thank you i enjoyed it and will watch it over and over in the furtureVollständige Rezension lesen...

Another great tale from Cannon Movies!

Beauty and the Beast tells the tale of a beautiful girl who becomes trapped in a castle where a hideous man-like beast reigns. No matter what, he won't let her escape. She is forced to live with him. But something tells her that the beast might not be all that he seems.

This is the typical story that we all know surrounding the Beauty and the Beast tale. However, when it comes to Cannon Group to make an adaptation of a Grimm fairy tale, you can expect there to be variations.

While the film presents it's own set of beautiful scenery, remarkable costumes, gripping plot, and overall filming talent, it is also a great fun to watch to see how Cannon Group has slightly deviated from the classic tales once more.

Great copy of this used DVD. It plays perfectly. I love the movie, I watch it over and over.

Beauty and the Beast

I think this movie might be entertaining to small children but I wasn't overly thrilled with it. The costumes were pretty but the sets needed a lot of work and the actor playing the beast was pretty bad. I think the movie could have been a lot better if the film makers had put a little more effort into it. A big problem I had with it was they halfheartedly tried to make it a musical but no one in the movie could sing, they either needed to hire actual singers or just take the musical numbers out alltogether. Good fairy tale.

Good fairy tale. Rebecca De Mornay is a good actress but not a great singer. Would have been better if they cast someone who could sing.

I saw this movie on cable when I was young. I got it to show my grandchildren. It is a really good movie. It has beautiful costumes and sets. I like the music very much. Great trip down memory lane DVD. I'm a very happy customer!!!!

I wanted this DVD because I used to watch this movie as a kid and I hadn't seen it in years. It was a great tripbdown memory lane watching it again, im really happy I bought the DVD :)
